Special FX Video Editing Anyone?

Just trying my luck here in the off-topic discussion since this has nothing to do with IM at all!

My friends and I recorded raw footage for our own short action film

It's a pain using Adobe After Effects to put in the gun muzzle flashes and truth be told, mine isn't the prettiest work around.

I'm wondering if anyone else here knows and does special FX like this for video editing? Things like adding gun muzzle flash, blood spraying out, debris falling, explosions, bullet holes, and shells ejecting. (I've already bought a large collection of these files)

I'm seriously considering to pay someone else to help finish the special FX while I focus on adding the sound effects.

Alternatively, do you know of any forums on video special FX? Thanks!

      Don't know if your looking to acquire another piece of software but have a look at Particle Illusion. It's pretty easy to use even I managed to add effects to a video.

      They also have a plugin version for After Effects with a 30 day trial. No aff.

    @peterj no I'm not looking to get a sofware. I'm already using Adobe AfterEffects and Sony Vegas Pro 10.

    I'm really looking for people who knows how to add the special effects (all mentioned above) - or at least a place where I can find them. I don't mind paying to get this done even though the video is for non-profit.

    Edmond - long time no see.
    Ya might wanna send a pm to Bill Farnham (used to go by the username Killer Joe). He does a lot of video work and I've seen a few with some pretty strange effects. He probably can do what you need. - Don't know for sure, but it won't hurt to ask. If he can't do it, he probably knows who can.
