Yes, it's true. I applied, got interviewed, and was offered a full-time job at Amazon to do customer service for their affiliates.
Well, when they told me they were paying a whopping $800/month , I turned it down saying I'd rather be an affiliate.
Then a guy in a black suit walked in and started interrogating me, asking me stuff like who was I learning from.
I just smiled and said - from the best.
Then they whispered some stuff amongst themselves, then shook my hand and said "Good luck" with a condescending snicker.
Now, let's see if I can make that much as an Amazon affiliate to prove to those Amazon basterds that I don't need them.
Wait, huh?

Good luck as an Amazon Affiliate. Maybe you'll make enough to buy your own black suit.

Not difficult to reach a consistent 4 digits with Amazon every month. I did it within 5-6 months of hitting it hard.

Wishing you every success in the world, but don't do it to prove to "those Amazon basterds". Do it for yourself and for the people you care for.

There's an Amazon Warehouse out here. They are hiring for the Christmas season. I was told that they work people 7 days a week and 12 hours a day for a couple months on end, and if you get sick or just fall out from over-tired and miss a day they fire you. Just like being in China without having the huge expense for the trip.

Not sure if they treat their office personnel better than that or not but the warehouse workers are treated like crap.

Must be in a country without a statutory minimum wage? I'm wondering in which countries Amazon does business and can offer such wages?

Really? In America? I'm surprised they can get away with this?

That was in Costa Rica. Many big name companies come here to pay the low minimum wage.

    Whoops!

Of course a full time job is 40 hrs a week. The OP DID mention that it was full time. My bad. I guess I missed that part because I was in such disbelief at an $800 a month offer!

    Thanks.
