Yawn...How come nobody ever sees UFOs in the daytime?

I don't know what THAT was but it certainly wasn't green men from Mars.

To your question -- yawn... burp... belch right back atcha.

I'd guess there are a few thousand planes up in the sky at any given time. Do you see thousands per day? Hundreds per day? 10?

If an alien craft actually dumbed down their technology (assuming they are a bit more advanced than us), and allowed themselves to be seen (assuming they are traveling s-l-o-w enough to be seen) -- what are the odds of you looking up at that exact time and location to "catch'it"?

And what are the odds that you'll just happen to have a fairly good camera
      on hand?

Why do you "assume" that "nobody ever sees ufo's in the daytime?"

Of course, by UFO I'm assuming that you are referring to aircraft from another world.

The odds of winning the Texas Lottery is about 13,000,000 to one. But it still happens. Frequently.

      Lots of assumptions and considerations.

      Yawn.

Amazing! It is really cool what people can do with kites or balloons at night.

I'll bet that the ~200000 people who live in the capital of Chile don't think it's a "far off out of the way place."

I will admit that I was expecting a band video when I clicked on this thread. Somewhere around here I have UFO's "Obsession" on vinyl.

They whiz thru the sky at a bazillion miles an hour...
evade ground to air radar (very little of the earth is not covered)...
manage to get in and out of trailer parks for a quick proctology exam..
never leave a sound on the many powerful audio recorders set up..

and always forget to turn their anti collision and or headlights off...

    amazing.

Jordan - I don't think they are aliens. I've seen stuff much like that, but it was right over a military artillery range. Of course, that probably doesn't make anyone feel better that the military has gadgets that strange going on than they would if it were aliens, I suppose.

The video in the OP is like so many others. Lights in the dark, proof of nothing, useful for speculation only. Judging by the flickering I'd say they were Chinese lanterns. If an intelligence was smart enough to get here through the vastness of space, I'd assume they could make better lights than that.

Why is it so many of these "ufo" videos and pictures show the purported alien craft on an angle? Don't those green guys know how to fly level? Or maybe they have to have one end higher to minimize stomach acid? Or maybe they bought the hot rod flying saucer model, you know, the ones with the lift kit.

Oh wait, I know what it is . . . sky wheelies!

The odds that one specific individual will see it, not so good. The odds that on a planet of around 7 billion people some will see it, pretty darned good. The odds that some will have a decent camera, I'd guess pretty darned good for that one too.

As for why Steve would assume nobody ever sees UFO's in the daytime, probably because all the videos are of lights in the dark . . . which also happens to be much easier to fake.

        Hey Dennis...

Speaking of Chinese laterns...If you get a chance, check this video out...It's a pratical joke one of the crab boats on Deadliest Catch plays on another boat. This video doesn't show the entire thing...The first boat shuts off all of its lights so it can't be seen at night, then lights the Chinese laterns about a mile upwind from the other boat.

Also missing was when the first boat (Time Bandit) turns on their lights and reveal it's a practical joke...It was one of the funniest things I've seen. Great practical joke.

You are more observant that I am, Dennis. You are right, though - what I saw was 4 lights also - but they were completely level and continued so as they moved across the sky - the ones on the end did go out and reform but very steadily with no flickering or unevenness. I'd still love to know what I saw, but am fully confident that it was from the military range. I'm sure there would have been some quick and strong movement at the base it it hadn't, LOL.

Steve - I've seen vids of UFOs in the daylight. Can't say they were real or fake - but the daylight was real.

That's pretty funny, Kurt. That skipper was taking the bait. I assume the full show had a longer piece, so did any other crew members see it? Did they take the bait too?

From what I remember, the crew were all passed out, as the season was over and they were headed in. So Captain Sig was the only one to take the bait. IIRC, he was freaking out even more before he found out the truth. I'm sure being exhausted played a part.

Then the other boat turned on all their lights full and called Sig on the radio to rub it in.

I just remembered this after you mentioned Chinese laterns...

Oh that was just the Transformers checking things out, but I think the story was a weather balloon released by a top secret aircraft. . . And everyone knows they don't come from mars . . . They come from Pluto...And they're ticked that they're not a planet anymore. Battle L.A. is what happens next.
