I had seen some forum posts with this message quoted:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has logged a record of this thread along with the IP addresses of the participants due to potential violations of U.S. law. Reference no. 2334453436. The thread starter's IP address has been entered into our suspect database. Please wait while memory ref. code 90637895 is entered into the database.

Please tell me if FBI really does posted this for real or only they impersonate as a fake agent?

It sure sounds fake. Long strings of "reference numbers" is one clue -and this statement has two of them. If the FBI was going to go after someone, they'd do it directly, not post in a forum.

Yeah, because the FBI always warns people they're being watched.

By the way, I googled that "reference number" and see it supposedly refers to child solicitation. Law enforcement does lay traps in those kinds of places. You read about people getting busted that way regularly, but I doubt if the FBI announces their presence because it seems to me that would blow their cover. It's probably a good idea not to hang out in places where that warning is being issued, real or not, because it probably is being watched.

They ask you to wait while they record your IP? LMAO. Okay.

This sounds like something the webmaster has devised to scare spammers or TOS violators.

The FBI pulled 84 websites earlier this year - and there was an official statement with the FBI emblem when you clicked up a site from those servers, but no reference numbers or maybe this or maybe that details.

This doesn't ring real at all.

Want to hear a secret? PSSST.... It takes LESS time to record your IP number than it does to tell you! In fact, BY DEFAULT, it is recorded *****BEFORE***** any such program could even START, let alone be instructed to!

FURTHER, the IP is MEANINGLESS!!!!!!!! In fact, the IP address I am at NOW is one I may NEVER be ABLE to access after monday! It may be dfferent from the one I used 6 hours ago! It is one I have NEVER used until this morning. And who uses t AFTER monday? WHO KNOWS!?!?!?

The IP address is the POTENTIAL address of the termination of a CONNECTION. Not really a computer, and certainly NOT a person.

And "memory ref. code 90637895"? WHO talks like that? I am a programmer, and have programmed in about SIX versions of assembly. 6502,8080,z80, 80x86, PDP 11, and VAX! I have looked at 1802, 6800, and 68000 as well. I have programmed in FORTH, FORTRAN, COBOL, etc... Memory reference? SOUNDS PHONY! "U.S. law. Reference no. 2334453436."?!?!?!? Who talks like that? I have looked at CIVIL, CRIMINAL, COMMERCIAL codes/laws, and THEY don't talk like that?

The FBI would NOT tell you about such a thing, and WHY would they ask you to wait. The FBI, and other agencies, generally ask for LOGS! They contain the VERY information those morons claim to be storing.

The FBI would *******NEVER******* pay potentially billions, waste potentially years, and possibly subject themselves to HEFTY lawsuits, and have HUGE publicity nightmares to modify software to trap info FAR in the future that may NEVER exist! It may never even hold up in court! Why should they when they can simply get the logs that may go years into the PAST and have the TIMES and possibly the PATH!? It is CHEAPER, FASTER, MORE RELIABLE, MORE STEALTHY, TRANSPARENT, NON INVASIVE, etc.... And you know what? It has over a DECADE of precedents in court cases and investigations, INCLUDING police and the FBI.

Looks like a fake one, validated by Steve. IMHO they don't have to tell that, everybody knows that they are watching everybody .

It reminds me of a IRC joke that I read couple of weeks ago :

    <Stormrider> I should bomb something
<Stormrider> ...and it's off the cuff remarks like that that are the reason I don't log chats
<Stormrider> Just in case the FBI ever needs anything on me
<Elzie_Ann> I'm sure they can just get it from someone who DOES log chats.
    *** FBI has joined #gamecubecafe
    <FBI> We saw it anyway.
*** FBI has quit IRC (Quit: )

If the posters are not FBI agents isn't it against the law to hold yourself out as one. Something about impersonating a federal law enforcement agent seems to come to mind.

The FBI does pull sites and they sometimes need to. Former High School counselor here was just sentenced to 30 years in prison. He had amassed a collection of over 250,000 child pornography images and had two websites set up. He thought running them through a couple of proxy servers in the Caymans would somehow keep him from being caught. Local news reports the sites now bring up a warning screen from the FBI. I hope they can track every dirt bag that ever made a purchase there.
