Hi everyone,

I am a newbie just getting into internet marketing, so I thought I'd say hi. I'll try to get my sea legs in the next couple of days, but I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to recommend me introductory reading on this forum? I'm really not sure where the best place to start is.

Also, I intend to give back to the forum in terms of partnerships and such, but I understand that it's frowned upon if a noob looks for a partnership right away :-).

    Welcome aboard.

Establish yourself and your services then people are more likely to strike up a JV with you.

Welcome, You will find a lot of friendly people here on this forum and a few that will actually be willing to help you .

Try and keep your trouble making down to a one time thing though.

No recommended fist timer reading ,"Maybe someone else will chime in for that".

Welcome, this is the place to be. Lots of helpful, friendly people, but you must follow all the rules so if you don't have them down, read and re-read them.

I am not new to business but when I was new to IM, I got lots of good help here.

Use the search key and search for "newbies" so see the advice given to other newbies.

I always tell newbies to get some knowledge and have a plan before buying anything. There is a whole lot of free stuff that is actually very valuable.

Also, the sooner you realize that this a business like any other and that there are no single products or services or software that will make you a ton of money overnight with no work, the better off you will be.

So, study, find one method and one niche and really focus on that until you are making some progress before you go to something else.

Jumping from one money making idea to another even when they make big promises will just cost you a lot of time and money.

    Again, welcome and good luck.

    :-)

Thanks for the replies everyone. Indeed, I will tune down the double part of trouble :-).

As far as my background, so far I have had experience in Ruby and in Rails, but I understand that these days website templates are pretty good alternative to building a site from scratch.

In any event, I'll get on the newbie threads and see what's what. Thanks again!
