Does anyone know what side of the planet would get hit of Asteroid YU55 (schedule to pass the earth later today) if it by some weird chance it got sucked in by our gravity?

I have googled it and can't seem to find the answer.

That's a question I should ponder on...I just hope its not my side *asteroid hits other side of earth 5 seconds later*!!! haha just kidding, I don't think it'd hit anytime soon; I honestly don't think there's anything to worry about.

Let me scare you for a moment:

FEMA is conducting a nationwide test on the same day (the first of its kind) - coincidence? FEMA, when asked why on that day, gave reporters puzzling and unusual answers that the reporters did not expect.

It's one of the strangest asteroids as well, as it is almost perfectly spherical and has a rotational rate of almost 24 hours (very usual for an "asteroid"). It's almost like a mini planet. NASA scientist are also puzzled as to why it is highly reflective.

Here's the FCC "takeover" event mentioned by FEMA; even some politicians are worried as to why the FCC is taking this "takevoer" after the asteroid passes.

anyway, I'm sure its nothing...but the conspiracy theorists are having field day

We have about 6 years notice when this asteroid comes close to earth - in a few hundred years there may be a collision...but not today.

The "practice alert" tie-in makes no sense. You don't tell people to ignore a test alert if there is a serious danger. Just proof some will point to anything in an effort to get attention or fuel paranoia.

You could just as easily decide the practice alert means there is no danger.

Watch the History channel when you get a chance. There is some fascinating
scientific (not mumbo jumbo) evidence about past and possible future asteroid
        collisions.

During my week of living in hotel rooms, all I could do was watch TV and the
History Channel had two fascinating programs...one on the dinosaurs and the
other on asteroids, meteors and comets.

Let's put it this way...there is some real scary sh*t out there that I don't want
to be around for when it happens.

jeezus -- That second video is the most inane thing I've seen posted yet. Some chick with a drill fetish rambling aimlessly through her stuffed hard-drive.

There probably will be major catastrophes coming. There always have been - but now we have population like anthills all over areas that are prone to massive disasters - and we are in a magnetic pole shift so the crust is shifting. We are also coming out of an inter-glacial period. There is major political unrest globally, too.

And it's strange somehow that people responsible for disaster mitigation are drilling after botching so many of them and being criticized gobally for it? LMAO. Okay.

We're coming out of the inter-glacial period. I sure damned hope they are ready to mitigate disasters of any kind, whether local or global.

Yeah, doesn't it always work out that way

Here's a link to a story about how you can never tell what asteroid's are going to do because so many things affect its path:

Asteroid Close Call With Earth? You Have No Idea | Fox News

Keep in mind NASA can't even predict properly where a doomed earth satellite is going to land, doesn't exactly inspire confidence in their prediction abilities..

There is also a 30 nation Tsunami exercise being planned for today and tomorrow along with the FCC "takeover":

In any case we will find out in about two hours.....(cue the creepy Armageddon music)

WOW! It depends if it is coming from the part closest the sun, or farther away, the time of year, the time of day, the effect of the various planets, etc... how close it is, how fast it moves. I imagine it would be pretty difficult to figure, and WHY? Space junk is easier because t is CLOSER, and most questions don't need to be asked. Maybe the answer isn't there. BESIDES, if it won't hit the planet, a lot of questions are still FAR too variable.

It really IS a silly question, if you think about it. To hit ANYWHERE on the world, it would have to be FAR closer than it is, and that would require a difference in several of the parameters needed to determine where it would hit. So let's say it would have hit in Paris Texas! WHY NOT? It is probably about as likely as any of the other places. REMEMBER! To hit, it would have to have parameters changed. Maybe it could pass closer, or rebound off another trajectory, or be higher or lower or faster or slower.
