Today in the U.S. it's Veterans Day, there are a lot of members here that have served....

Without your service (sacrifice), my business may not exist.

Here in the U.S., there's no excuse why someone can't succeed and make a lot of money with all the freedoms we're afforded.

Today is your day...

Thank You.

    Mark,

11th November, Remembrance Day, is also marked in the UK.

We have a lot to be thankful for to those who made the ultimate
sacrifice and to the men and women who are serving their countries
    today.

Indeed John. We had our two minutes silence here at 11 and I will have a further two minutes on Sunday for the official ceremony.

They also made the ultimate sacrifice, not just for the great men and women serving their countries today but everyone that is alive and well today.

      Lest we forget.

  • Yes, we owe tons to the freedom allotted us by those willing to protect our countries.

Without these freedoms, we certainly would not have successful businesses!

Thank you to all the warriors that keep coming back after success is theirs.

Being a veteran myself and currently working in Iraq as a government contractor I can tell you that your thanks are very much appreciated!

Believe it or not, one of the most touching things I saw when I was deployed with the military was a young soldier who received one of those blanket thank you letters from a child. The child was in the 5th grade and her entire class wrote thank you letters to the soldiers deployed to Somalia (1993). My platoon received a batch of these letters and as we passed them out to the troops you could see it really lifted their spirits. One soldier in particular was deeply affected by such a seemingly simple gesture...he wrote back to that student (and teacher) and still remains in contact with them both to this day..almost 20 years later.

Things like this just go to show that a little appreciation goes a very long ways sometimes.

That's so cool! I've always had a lot of respect for those that serve. Speaking of being a contractor - do you work for the Xe(Blackwater) Contractor group?

As a veteran, I think that it is always fitting to thank our armed forces people for the job they do. With out them, this country wouldn't exist. Now, if you are 18 or older, it is time for you to get off your lazy duffs, and sign up.

Sincere gratitude and thanks to those who served, without you our freedoms would be limited and our lives wouldn't be as rich. Your sacrifice has brought us great gain...

A touching tribute by one of the world's greatest guitarists (IMO).

    When November brings,
    The poppies on Remembrance Day,
When the vicar comes to say,
"May God bless them, every one,
    Lest we forget our sons."
    We will remember them.

Thank you to my Father and His Father before him who both served, both fought, both returned. Thank you to the friends I lost, and those that returned. Thank you to all who served and are continuing to do so. Proud memory and salutes to those who fought to give us this country.

To families with loved ones now serving - we pray with you for their safe return.

A wish for the future that we will become the intelligent beings we were meant to be and learn to live in peace and freedom without war.

Please remember a lot of Vets did not come home in one piece.

This is sickening and in my opinion we should do a lot more for these Vets than we do.

As a veteran, I want to say thanks for all the thanks.

I'd also like to salute all the families of veterans. It's not easy for them either. The separation, the loneliness, the added responsibility, and in times of war, the not knowing if your loved one will be coming home safely.

I thank you for being strong for your loved ones in the service. Your strength makes it a little easier for them.

    Thanks to all you guys...

And let's not forget those that supported the Military through the years and never get mentioned...Like the Merchant Marines, who during WWII had the highest casulty rate of anyone, 10x higher than even the Marines.

Let's also pay tribute to people like my Grandmother who was a nurse in The Phillipines helping wounded soldiers when MacAuthor had to evacuate the Islands. She barely escaped with her life.

Thanks to all who sacrificed to help keep us safe and free.

I was always impressed with those who volunteer during a time of war, and those who were drafted but never complained.

I'm a few minutes late to this thread, but thanks.
