Internet Marketing Humour & Jokes

I recently spoke on Light Pollution to the Nanaimo Astronomy Society. I started off the presentation with an astronomy joke.

It went over so well, I thought I should also start my presentations as an Internet marketing speaker with some Internet marketing humour.

Anyone have any jokes or funny stories they can share that I can use?

Using this approach is certainly a good way to warm up your audience....hope some marketers share some humorous stories here.

Just my opinion, but I think this thread might get a better response in the Off-Topic forum. ...it's more for jokes and such.

      That's a joke in itself....

The guy asks for help, and we all instantly deam he's posted the request in the wrong 'room' of our virtual world.

Oh how quick we all are to judge people's location in the forumsphere....

And this just popped into my head....

"Internet marketers are just like hairdressers...we all think we're experts at everything, when in reality all we're good at is reducing the amount of hair we have on our heads".

    Hi Garland,

I'm Not trying to be an a$$ about this but there was a thread started by
WF Super Moderator Paul Myers which read, http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...?highlight=put

So, don't be surprised if this thread is moved or deleted.

Just thought you should know so you wouldn't ask why later.

    Have a Great Day!

Although the topic is Internet marketing related, I suppose some people could consider it off topic. So, yes, if the thread is moved, I won't be surprised. The moderators will take care of that. So we don't need a bunch more people giving their opinion that it is off topic - that is off the topic of the thread which is Internet jokes and humour.

I am surprised that there are so few examples of Internet marketing humour out there. When I asked in the astronomy forum, I got a ton of astronomy humour and jokes.

Are astronomers "funnier" than Internet marketers? Is Internet marketing so deadly serious that none of us can crack a joke?

Garland, you've been around here long enough to know there are plenty of jokes and humor around the forum. I just made up a funny limerick about Jill Carpenter yesterday. I thought it was funny anyway, in the context of the thread.

For most of us, humor is a spontaneous thing. We don't have a routine we can call up at will. It would take some thought, and time, to come up with something, and most of us aren't here to spend our time creating content for others.

However, when I was doing copyright research I'm pretty sure I remember reading jokes are not copyrightable. Check into that, and if I remembered correctly, why don't you find a few jokes you like and adapt them? Shouldn't be too hard.

Besides, you didn't tell us your astronomy joke. Maybe if you do, and I like it, I'll make up a joke for you.

      Hi Dennis,

The astronomy joke wasn't an original, I shamelessly borrowed it from one of the astronomy forum members who sent it to me. Here it is:

"The speed of light is faster than the speed of sound. This is why some people appear brilliant until they open their mouth..."

My expectation wasn't that people would spend time making up jokes for me, I just thought there would be a lot of Internet marketing jokes out there. There are a pile of them in the astronomy field and I have pages of them from there.

I did do a search for "Internet Humor" and came up with very little. When I do the same search for "astronomy humor" I find a lot. I will try widening the search to general Internet humor.

I was surprised astronomers were so funny. Didn't fit my preconceived notion of them. Hopefully we Internet marketers aren't just a bunch of stuffed shirts compared to them.

How about forgetting the internet part and digging into straight marketing humor... then adapt?

Why did the internet marketer cross the road?

To get to the shiny new object of course.

Okay that's lame but I tried.
