We Don't Hire USA Help!

i read today in the warriors for hire section (well technically the warriors looking to hire you section) someone was looking for an seo company that was NOT US-based.

can someone explain to me the possible reasons someone would want a non-US based company over a US-based company so bad they put that stipulation in their post?

i'd assume with all the jobs being outsourced overseas, people would take great pride in helping out fellow americans. ya know help out the economy on the home front.

am i missing something?

    There could be many reasons:

    - lower costs
    - maybe they want some links from IP's from outside of the US
    - maybe they don't like Americans
    - maybe they had a bad experience with an American company

I could sit here and invent more reasons, but they're only guesses. If you really want to know you'll have to ask them.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

LOWER COST US companies are ALWAYS lower cost, and higher cost companies are ALWAYS higher cost, even if they are in secluded areas of india! So that is NOT a valid reason!

What is an "american company"? I work for a company now in the US that COULD be called an indian company! I work on products from an american company that COULD be called pakistani! I hired two painters from mexico. So WHAT is an "american company"?

      OK, what is an "american"?

As for the IPs? Outside of the scam deals, where they link to your system, and have control of things you DON'T want, and make your site look bad, that is a non sequitor!

right as i read your thread, i thought to myself maybe they themselves aren't american or have money invested in China or Europe (well if the latter is true they better hope the dollar really tanks)

I have no idea which ad you're talking about, but a thought occurred to me. Is that racist?

I mean, what would the reaction be if someone said we don't hire Indian help, or Phillippino help, or Kenyan help, or Greek help, or Bolivian help, or fill-in-a-country help?

More than likely price. Most overseas companies have drastically lower prices.

Not "racist" per se, but bigoted. Meh. Who cares? There will always be people like that in the world.

Price probably isn't the problem because companies in Canada, Western Europe and Australia (not to mention parts of Asia and the Middle East) also charge similar rates. Why would someone in London charge less than someone in a small town in Kansas? They wouldn't, of course, but the company that put out that ad would still be happy hiring a more expensive Londoner over a cheaper worker in Kansas because the Londoner is "not American."

      Legal considerations?

Maybe they want to do some dodgy stuff so they want IP addresses/people based in countries which don't have agreements with the US Dept. of Justice.

I think the best reason would be the lower cost rather than any other issue.Hiring a freelancer from USA is costly than any other country.

I dont think there are nay connection with racism like issues.Well these are my personal thoughts.

Since when Americans are "race" of their own ?
If anything it could be "nationalism" .

But like many said above. it's probably because 3rd world countries are cheaper.

Americans aren't a race, but neither are MEXICANS! Yet say something against mexico or mexicans, and people may scream RACISM!

Yeah, you're right. From stuff I've seen written on the net here and there, I think that some are beginning to consider us an invasive species.

Why dont you ask them? Looks like a navel gaze question.

I have used Indian and Pakistani people to programme for me but my most excellent and best operator is a guy from New York - I'm from Australia by the way

I mean Who cares? Why am I answering this question? Must be something to do with my torn achilles tendon and sitting on my butt day after day...sheesh.

I think that because this is also an International Forum maybe some of those "Third World"? Warriors might wonder at the motivation behind this question - They might say "Because of the excellence and fair pricing of our work!"

Basically I dont care when I want work done I want to hire the best - no matter where they are from.

As above mentioned, reasons may be tremendous. But let's look things this way.

Let's see, you go to the orchard at fruit picking time. You look at a tree. You can realize that there are plenty of healthy fruit and some bad. Say, this tree brings 1 quarter fruits, you'll not cut the tree because of five pieces of bad fruit, will you?

You know, I also got bad fruits from all over the world (included american companies) since I'm self employed. So I went. I became poorer a few thousands dollars and richer with experiences.

But that does not mean that I'll no longer go into that orchard. I'm going to go to there other times too, but will put closer examination of the fruit trees.

So, no matter, where can I find proper service. What Is In It For Me? I just want to get it what I pay for. So, I'll do my due diligence.

      It's that simple.

      Best,

      Sandor

Honestly- I love every country persons and I personally dont believe in these things lol

Since coming to the topic there could any reason for this like- they might hate americans, they might get cheap price, they had some poor experience in past or anything !!

So while wasting our time in thinking why one said like this we should move forward !!

PS: Never bring IN your personal stuffs or issues in your biz life

    Regards

I agree - if it bothers you, ask them. If you don't like the answer, stay away from them.

It's just a company. If you don't like a company, they are easy to get rid of. Just refuse to buy from them or work for them. If people would figure that out again we'd not have companies like MONSANTO trashing up the planet. Your patronage is a vote for a company so just refuse to deal with them if they tick you off.

    I have not seen the original comment (I searched for but could not find it) but I quote from the first post in this thread;
someone was looking for an seo company that was NOT US-based.
Gheeze, everyone jumping in, gun cocked ready to fire before they know the real reason for the comment in the post. Sure they may be some unsavory connotations behind it, but lets at least hear why the comment was made, could it have something to do with tax maybe?, who knows, but a lot of posters are looking for devilish motives where there may be none, it's no wonder the world is full of so much hatred, people are too quick to judge and form opinions without knowing even the tiniest piece of fact!
