Hi Warrior,

Our Chinese New Year is coming in 2 days' time
and I presume those are celebrating it are
either busy buying Chinese New Year goodies
or busy spring cleaning and decorating their
houses with red-colored decors.

Normally, our practice is to send greetings and
wishes to our fellow friends so they can get more
luck...

Luck to have better health!

Luck to have more happiness!

Luck to make more $$$!!!

So I want to wish all our Warrior Members here

A very Happy Chinese New Year and wishing
you and your family
more happiness,
better health and
more prosperity
in this
year of Ox!

Cheers,
John

    Happy ASIAN New Year!

(I love the bakery on the bottom right =). . Yummy...

BTW--how do you celebrate it over in Singapore? Firecrackers? cherry blossom, yellow blossom? redness (as in $$$)? Anything else....?

      Hi Mint,

      Yes, those bakeries are yummy!

Local foreign expats love that too and
now there are many foreigners who are tourists
visiting Asia countries to have a feel of the
      festive mood.

In Singapore, fire crackers are banned as
they have been the culprits of burning houses
      in 1950s to 60s.

However in our neighbouring countries like
Malaysia and also in China, you can still hear
      fire crackers.

And about $$$, yes, older generations,
married couples have to give $$$ in the
form of red packets to the non-married
      and children.

My sign is the Wood Ox, and I'm definitely representing the Oxes. This year is going to be the one where I come out on top financially. I'm giving it all I got!

Anyways, I wish everybody on the forums happiness, health and wealth in 2009. As for me, I'll be putting up my first sale post any day now...

      HI Gringo,

Perhaps what he meant was we will buy new clothes...for this festive and auspicious season....

And for unmarried, they will get money in the form of ang pow or red packets...

Happy new year to you too!

            Happy Chinese New Year!!!!

I wish there was an Asian community near me that celebrated this - I would love to have been a part of it.

This year of the Ox is MY year .. 1973 Ox baby ... and Gemini to boot. *wiggles eyebrows*

Things were already off to a great start before the CNY, but this will be a double-whammy .... so things should soar for me.

But it's not all "taking" .... regardless, I feel I should give in return to all that I may receive this fine year. While I already do volunteer work and buy extra food for our local Crisis Center, I'll be ramping up those efforts and try to get our small community involved.

Peace, Health, Wealth, and Happiness to ALL!
