Hi Warriors,
I am hoping there is someone here that is savvy on technical matters. My Dell laptop is having a BLUE screen that I cannot bypass. This is the full message it gives me...
a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart the computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Checck your hard drive configuration , and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Technical information:
***STOP: 0x00000024 (0x001902FE, 0xF8A2780C, 0XF8A27508, 0XF82F1185)

*** Ntfs.sys - Address F82F1185 base at F82E4000, Datestamp 45cc56a7
I need this laptop for my business and cannot afford to get a new one right now...What I dont undertand is how it tells me to go back and uninstall things etc when I cannot get into the computer itself. I have tried all I know how.

Is there someone out here that can help me please?:confused:

Much thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!
Pierre

Dell usually includes an Operating System disk with their computers.
While BSOD aka blue screen of death can sometimes be fixed, your best bet would be to do a repair installation of the operating system.

    Hi Kim,

Thanks for the reply. I know I have a disk around here somewhere! I will give this a try!

    You are welcome.
A repair installation is aka an "over the top installation" and you usually don't lose any important information.

I found someone with a similar problem, however since I can't post links yet, you can find it by searching 'boot into safe mode Dell Inspirion 6000' in google. It should be the first link (on computing.net)

They basically had to boot from CD, which involved accessing the BIOS, which in their case (for the same model notebook as you), was F12, and changing the boot options to CD.

Hopefully that is of some help.

The best course of action is to do a reinstallation of your operating system.
