Harry Morgan who played Colonel Potter in the long running hit TV series M*A*S*H has passed away aged 96.

Many thanks for the memories. You will live on as long as M*A*S*H is still being shown on television (a long time to come).

Appreciation: Harry Morgan was dependably wry

OH NO! This is sad news. He was an awesome actor - one that made me laugh often. Made me think now and again, too. Oh, he will be missed.

    RIP Harry.

He made being a character actor look easy - It's not that easy making it look that easy...

    R.I.P. Harry

In all the parts I saw him cast in, I thought he fit the part well. He lived a LONG life though, apparently was cared for till the end, and died peacefully in his sleep.

  • Though he may be remembered as Col. Potter...(a character he loved to play, and afforded him tremendous range as an actor) I will still remember him as Henry Fonda's sidekick in "The Oxbow Incident" -
Nominated for best picture in 1944, it lost - to "Casablanca" (tough year)

Wow is right - a world without Harry Morgan.

We have lots of his stuff though - I best remember him as Joe Fridays' (Jack Webb) sidekick on 'Dragnet' as a kid.

    95 - amazing.

    RIP Harry Morgan

A little trivia about Harry Morgan and MASH.

Before he played Col Potter, he had an earlier role on the show as General
Steele (3 e's, not all in a row). The character was totally whacked and I
think a big reason why they brought Harry in to play Potter, he did it so well.

The show became a better, and a more serious one, after Harry arrived. An
episode that revolved around him was always a good one.

He had a long good life.

RIP Harry...you'll be missed by more than you can ever imagine.

I don't know who he is but living to 95 is amazing. If I make it that far it would be a Miracle.
