Today, 30 years ago, this song was released.

Even better than the Bobby Fuller version, IMHO, which by the way, wasn't
even the original, which was done in 1959 by Sonny Curtis.

Enjoy!

I've always been a fan of the Clash version myself.
I kinda grew up on the Fuller version though so I'll always like that one also.

Thom, I grew up with the Bobby Fuller version too. If you listen to it after
listening to this one, you'll really hear the difference in the recording quality
      from back in the 60s.

We've sure come a long way.

I know it is almost like listening to a caveman recording, lol.
I seen on t.v. recently that vinyl is making a comeback.
You can even buy turntables now without having to search the galaxy first.

I saw the Clash three times. The first time, in February, 1980, stands as the single best show I've ever seen. And I've seen thousands of bands over the years.

A couple years back I'm cruising around the net and I see a guy selling a video of that very show. Apparently it was taped for the venue's closed circuit system. What a bizarre and wonderful experience it was reliving that show. It was just as good as I remembered it!

That was the year I got turned on to Christian music: Lamb, Don Francisco's He's Alive. My favorite secular: John Denver -- pretty much anything he wrote and sang especially "Rocky Mountain High".
