Where I'm from (northern Ohio), we eat supper in the evening. It's the big meal of the day. What do you call it and where are you from?

I'm from Arizona and I eat dinner. That's what we called it when I was a kid. I knew a few people growing up who ate supper but it always sounded strange to me. In my family we NEVER used that word... but both my parents were from Columbus, Ohio so I'm surprised you call it supper.

I'm Canadian and routinely switch between dinner and supper. When I call my son to the table it's for "supper", but if I'm inviting people over or going out it's "dinner".

I eat dinner, not supper here in Texas. . . . I was taught supper was dinner and dinner used to be lunch. However, this isn't the 1950's anymore down here in the big citeh, yahooo. Yeeehaww. lol

Hello from Cali. My family and I like to have our evening meal/dinner when we're together at the end of the day. Something really hearty, warm.

I grew up in Southern Ohio - and in that farm country it was "supper" and the mid day meal was "dinner".

Didn't stick, I guess - I've always had lunch and dinner.

Sometimes I just call it "food"

It was sort of the same thing here Kay.
It was called supper and if it was going to be a fancy 'sit down' meal dinner.
