My daughter is in the hospital with a very low RBC
Good morning fellow warriors
My 15 y/o daughter's RBC blood count was only 5.7 and her platelet count was 3 X as high as normal.
She is bleeding rectally and they are giving her a 2nd bag of blood as I type. The blood tests from late last night showed the RBC further going down to 5.5 (normal for her age is 12 - 15).
Her blood pressure was very low and her heart rate is higher than normal for her age (around 123).
She will be hospitalized for approximately 4 days.
I am staying with her...the hospital is about an hour and a half from our home. There is a huge snow storm going on too.
They need to find out where the blood is coming from and the cause so she will be having more tests.
I will log back in again when I can and give an update.
Prayers and positive thoughts appreciated for her recovery and also prayers for enough income for me to cover the bills as I do not have insurance being self-employed.
