Do you worry about germs when service in restaurants or food stalls talk near your food and inadvertently splatter mouth water over it?

How is THAT being a hypochondriac? So you wouldn't mind if someone did surgery on you with NO gloves, NO masks, and NO cleaning of hands or tools? WOW!

    hy·po·chon·dri·a (hp-kndr-)
    n.
    1. The persistent conviction that one is or is likely to become ill, often involving symptoms when illness is neither present nor likely, and persisting despite reassurance and medical evidence to the contrary. Also called hypochondriasis.

      Steve
TBird NEVER said that was the definition of being a hypochondriac. It was a question FOR hypochondriacs. Try to keep up. And what's with the straw-man/sliding slope BS? How do you get from restaurants to operating rooms in Stevoworld?

Sorry Tbird, I'm not a hypochondriac...Just the opposite, I don't think anything is serious and will get better...Anything to avoid going to the Dr. Actually, I believe that being exposed to some germs is beneficial and helpful to the immune system.

I am concerned about that stuff all the time. I think I may be a bit of a hypochondriac myself.

    It ain't oral.

If you start doing that, where does it end?
    Howard Hughes ring a bell?

I was watching some true crime show the other day, it now is possible to get DNA if someone talks to you. From their saliva.
You're within (I don't remember exact) two feet, your getting their DNA on you all day long...people spray when they talk.

I agree with Kurt, you need some germs to build up immunity.
George Carlin did a pretty good routine about that...see if I can find it..

That is gross. Most of the dust that builds up indoors, some of which we breathe in, is human or pet skin sheddings.

Doctor: I'm afraid you have hypochondria.

        Patient: Oh no! That too?

Exactly...as is with spray it when you say it, these things and a thousand more have been happening since mankind has been around.
          Yet, here we are...
The only thing that changes is mans perception, becoming aware.
A lot of 'real' life is 'gross'...we just seem to be building bubbles to live in.

Your welcome Frank...I found that clip too....but I could have sworn there was a longer, more detailed version.
I saw that show in the clip and many more of Carlin's....but I can't remember which show he did the longer version in...
You know the memory ain't what it used to be....

Outta sight outta mind, I don't want to know if there's spit in my food, I will most likely not get sick if there was.

This reminds me of the salesperson helping me in the fishing shop yesterday. I kept taking a step backwards cause he kept spitting when he talked, but whenever I stepped back he just took a step closer!!

Same thing has happened to me on more than one occasion. I won't list any places, lol, but I've found that to be the case in some countries more than others, where there is less concept of personal space or privacy.
