Creating a company/software name similar to another popular one

Hi guys, I was wondering (hopefully I posted in the right place) that what if I wanted to create an online educational course that teaches certain languages but I really like the name... say.. ."Rosetta Stone" and maybe I want to create a software named ... say..."Rosetta Irish". Can I get sued for using the word Rosetta? I like the concept of the Rosetta Stone, the REAL history of how artists uses it. BUT I have a very different teaching method from Rosetta Stone. One thing is that it definitely wont be a software, but online thing.

I hear companies really can sue others for even using Abbreviations of their company names....

I'll immediately change my online course name and website of course, but... I'd like to know before I get an infringement email from a big company...

Thanks!

You can bet rosetta stone will threaten to sue you. They MIGHT win since they are established, in the same area, and your name IS intentionally confusing. The ONLY saving grace is that rosetta stone for languages is like calling a fruit drink apple. A LOT of fruit drinks have some apple juice.

If you do it with the INTENT to change, and maybe if you quickly change, you may STILL be sued! You ALSO will lose business!
