Let me tell you something. I'm a native American and the English language is a
          DOG!

I mean for crying out loud. I have never in my life seen more messed up stuff
than what comes out of an English dictionary.

          Meanings, pronunciations...it's all a joke.

For example, try reading this sentence.

"I read the New York Times."

Is it reed or red? You can't tell just from the sentence alone. Either pronunciation works.

          I mean you have...

          Ball, wall, call, hall...

          Maul?

Oh wait, there's also the other maul...mall.

But my favorite is this one, or is it won?

And if on is pronounced on, why is won pronounced wun? Shouldn't it be
spelled wun if it's pronounced wun?

I mean, fun is pronounced that way.

But so is done. So shouldn't done be spelled dun?

Oh wait...dun is actually a word with several definitions no less.

          And guess what?

If you are speaking to a person and ask this question.

          "Are you dun/done?"

Either makes sense. Yeah, wrap your head around that one.

Oh and speaking of wrap...there is also rap (a crappy excuse for music or
something you do with your knuckles...or is it your knuckles that get rapped?)

          And what's with head?

          You have head and dead.

But then you have wed and said.

          WTF?

And I never know when to use lead or led when lead isn't
          being pronounced leed.

          Read and reed?

One you do with a book and the other is part of a wind instrument.

          Oh yeah...wind

How can one word be pronounced with both a long I and short I and still be spelled the same way?

And if wind (long I) can be wind (short I)...

Why can't grind (long I) be grind (short I)?

And for the love of Pete, why do we park in a driveway and drive on the
          parkway?

And why do we have so many damn silent letters in our language?

Tell me...just where the hell is the "t" in wrestle?

Oh and then there's this monkey wrench.

          Light, fight, might, right, tight...

          Kite, white?

And speaking of right...just which write is right?

And why is left pronounced like deaf?

What the hell is there an "a" in there for?

Does anybody living on this planet here an "a" in deaf?

No, of course not...so why isn't it spelled deff?

After all, Jeff is spelled that way.

And while I'm here, why isn't devil pronounced like evil?

And why isn't level spelled like either of them?

And if the English language didn't come up with enough ways to f**k up
our heads, they then had to dump this little dandy on us.

          Two...to...too.

This sentence could make sense either way

          "It's too too many."

          "It's two too many."

They don't mean the same thing but they sure as hell sound the same.

          Hmmm....

          more, door, for, lure.

Okay, I'm living in this country 54 freakin years and my head is spinning. I
can only imagine what this language does to somebody who didn't grow up
          with it.

So relax. There are people in this country who went to American high schools
who still can't put a coherent sentence together.

In other words...you're in good company.

          Except you have an excuse.

On the other hand, most likely because I don't like socializing with people in real life... my spoken English is not stellar, LOL (yeah, I've learned PC euphemisms, too)

      - do I read enough every day in English and try to memorize ways of expressing my thoughts?

If you cannot answer a resounding yes to all of them...
First , I know my own language grammar ( YES ) but my own language no granmar at all
second, yes absolutly , I can make long stories and write on my language but not guranty good as a writer

Hi, Kom. Don't be depressed. English is not my first language either, since you can use this language to communicate already, all you need to is to improve your language sense for comprehension. If you want to write good English you can read more English books which is written by native speakers, it's a very good way to build up your language sense. To learn the language we all have to input before we output. Listening is the input, Speaking is the output. Reading is the input and writing is the output.

You remind me about the time I was learning English as a student. After I could speak English without much problem for communication my teacher told me to start watching TV shows and movies without subtitles. I found it was very hard at the beginning. Sometimes, I had to watch the movie several times to understand it. It's also a good way to learn English. OMG, I'm starting to talk like what I use to do. Sorry about my bla...bla...bla.....!

Hi Kom. You are doing much better. Please don't be so hard on yourself. I cannot imagine learning your language fast, reading, writing, speaking.

    Just keep practicing.

The library is free. You can get a library card and read kids books. I did that when I was trying to learn Spanish. I found some kids who practiced with me.

      Ooo...
That Long way to go !
I am just drive 35 mile per hour, but was good to know that !Thanks

    Kom,

I remember when you first joined,, you are doing much better as others have said.

I saw that post in the main forum, where some thought they were so smart.

Just remember...there are fools in any language.

I give you an A for effort..I'll give you that..

That was a pretty good suggestion Lori Kelley gave you about starting with kids books for English...it's a good way to get fundamentals.

Keep up the good work...I know you will

That's a good example of why it's hard to write in English.

I know what you mean from those words - but to write it correctly in English you would say

      I am not giving up

      I will not give up

English is a real stinker to learn - I'm awed by those who do and I agree with others you have improved dramatically.

I've suggested before that you contact some government offices in your city and see if there are English as Second Language classes offered in your area. Often those classes are free or inexpensive. You have reached a point where such a class could be a big help to you.
