Is the WAR ROOM a needle in a haystack?

Is finding an answer in the WAR ROOM like looking for a needle in a haystack? Or, has Google just permanently altered my brain?

Yes, I'm old enough to remember bulletin boards, and pay-per-minute dialup. Just the idea of getting a floppy in the mail with preloaded minutes just cracks me up. Anyway....

Things change so deceptively quickly that it gets funny the longer back you look to compare. But, when something so recent as the IPhone, Visual Voicemail, or Google Instant Search begins to fundamentally change my expectations, It's not funny but a little scary.

For example, as a paid member of the WarRoom, I once-in-a-while try to use the search thread function to find a pertinent answer. In other words, searching the 'Questions that don't fit anywhere else' thread. But I never yet found an answer to anything that resembles what I was searching for.

I understand Allen's desire to keep the thread count low and quality high, but it still doesn't make sense to me if I can't find an answer. Usually I find stuff from 2008 that contains the word or phrase in red, but totally off point.

Isn't there someway to add Google search within the forum, to allow a better logic algorithemthingy to deliver the answers?

I'm I just dull, or am I permanently spoiled by Google? If I have to scroll through hundreds of posts looking for something related to my query, I'm getting noticeably annoyed. So usually, I give up. And pop over to Google. Often I find the post or wso indexed there in Google's search results.

Time for the WarriorForum, especially the WarRoom, to upgrade? Or, am I just spoiled?

The War Room hasn't been around that long and only moderated threads appear there - thus its unlikely to be an encyclopedic source of knowledge about everything IM.

The Warrior Forum itself moved to a new platform (this one) in late 2008. Prior to that move the search function didn't work at all for years

When searching for specific threads here I usually have the most luck searching for one or two keywords in "thread titles" using the advanced search function. If you search "in posts" you'll get a lot to sort through. I never have searched the War Room only.

I'm not sure that war room threads will show up in a forum search, unless you are searching from the war room.
I belong to a couple other forums that are open to the public but have private sections also.
I know at them the private sections won't show in a forum search obviously because they are private.

I've had problems finding what I was searching for with the forum search also though, so I don't know if that's true here or not.
