Is there a way for me to find out who designed a website?

In other words, if there is no designer name at the bottom of the homepage and I don't want to call the site owner....is there any other way? Thanks.

If there is not a contact at the bottom of the page you can look up the whois info on the website and email the webmaster/administrator, be reminded though this is spam.

It's really not possible to ever be sure ANYWAY! They OFTEN put a link somewhere in the main page, that could be metadata in a graphic, but that could lead to a company selling for another company that may have an outsourced team that had a person design it. Then again, it may be the site's author itself. But WHO KNOWS? If it is copyrighted, it SHOULD be in the library of congress, but GOOD LUCK trying to find it!

You didn't REALLY think there would be a standard way of defining it, and finding it in a central registry, right?

If it's a Wordpress theme look at the CSS/stylesheet code. It should be at the top of that file.

Usually, I would use the contact form to ask the website owner.

Most of them are happy to give business to their designers.
