Hello

Im a newbie from Australia and i have no idea if im even placing this question in the right place. Im filling out a affiliate form an i have been asked for my Tax ID,SSN OR VAT: I figured out ssn stands for social security but what is a tax id is this equivalent to an ABN number i have no idea as im from australia an this is an american thing

    TAX ID, in the US, often refers to an EIN(Employer's Identification Number, which is basically a dedicated SSN type of number). It can also be a GENERIC term including other countries. You are right about SSN. VAT ID would obviously refer to the ID used to report VAT!

    BTW a Resale permit number, or SALES TAX ID, could ALSO be considered a TAX ID, but is used when stuff is bought wholesale, or with NO sales tax.

    If you're Australian I assume you have a Tax File Number. Why not use that?
