So this group of hackers were successfully able to take down a large number of government websites in retaliation for the shut down of mega-uploads..

problem imo is that they could only shut them down for a few hours and they were back up again..

a bit weak wouldn't u say?

I can't wait until they catch them and lock them up.

They are a menace to society and national security.

    Nothing but glorified trolls.

Not really. First of all, the U.S. media tries to downplay such events as much as possible. See the video from Rt.com below. What you have to realize about groups like Anonymous is that they're not centralized, so you can't stop them by locking up a few people here and there. This is going to be a very big year in some major ways, and the balance of power is shifting.

P.S. you know I'm no hacker, as I can never even remember how to embed videos here, but there's the link anyway:

I don't understand the sheeple that love to cheer Anonymous.

One day Anon members are screaming "censorship" protesting SOPA - and the next they are exercising censorship themselves through DDOS attacks.

Creeps. They are enjoying the attention they got from the SOPA protest videos and from the news media showing them with in masks at OWS.
They display more ego than conviction.

Need to add something I just saw - Anonymous is now promoting a software that allows any internet user to "participate" in their chosen DDOS attacks. Kids online will love that though most won't have any understanding of the issues, the targets or any idea WHY they are following this pied piper.

Please do not 'release balloons' for celebrations. The balloons and trailing ribbons entangle birds and kill wildlife and livestock that think the balloons are food.
