I don't understand why anyone would oppose SOPA/PIPA!

    If ONLY that were it! It has been said that, in swedish, it means trash and pipe! I guess it means smoke trash, and I DON'T want to do that!

    If 'pipa' is Swedish for 'pipe' - that would make sense...

    after all, the internet is a series of pipes...everyone in the Senate knows that...


    As for SOPA, there's a fly in it.

    As for PIPA...hmmm, I think we may need further investigation to get to the heart of the underlying issues...:rolleyes:

    We are not opposing SOPA and PIPA. We are opposing the government trying to get their hands on our SOPA and PIPA and trying to regulate them! (I am sure there are more than a few people in government who would love to get their hands on PIPA!)

    SOPA is the initials for Stop Online Piracy Act. You might react in a way that says you hate the bill.
    PIPA is Protect Intellectual Property Act.
    Both of these are proposed pieces of legislation up in Washington.
    Now SOPA was brought in front of the House in OCT. by Rep. Lamar Smith.
    Now PIPA is the same bill brought before the Senate in a slightly different proposal by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT). Some of the same ones that started it are getting further away from it. The bills want to stop pirated content. One problem is the punishment of doing so don't match up with the crime.

      Yeah, I get that. What I don't get is what it has to do with a photo of a bowl of
      "Whatever" and a photo of some girl who I don't recognize.
