We hear about it all the time -- why is it STILL NOT and acceptable treatment or "cure"???

Beautiful story:

It's not accepted because of big pharma. Until proponents stop making claims of "cures" and making the issue one of rights and freedoms, it won't be a medical drug.

If pharmaceuticals ever propose it as a "supporting drug", it would change things. However, first pharmas needs to find a way to profit from it or to use it to promote or enhance their current high dollar treatments.

The claims are being proven to be true in clinical trials now, thanks to California's med. cannabis laws, but I agree with what you are saying.
I believe the medical values would be more open to exploration if cannabis was legal for recreational use.
Even with the pharma's being able to reproduce the cannibinoids in cannabis, you can still produce the required treatment at home and have a purer, cheaper product.
Some recent studies have shown that eating raw cannabis is very beneficial to your over all health and it won't get you high. Heat is required to activate the 'high' you get from THC.
      Here's a video about it.

  • Great Story -

Monsanto hasn't figured out how to make it a GMO yet.

It's still an "herb" easily grown and readily available to anyone who would want to grow it - even if licensed for medical purposes...gee, you can't have that...can you. Monsanto and big pharma can't make any money that way...

The first major step would be removing it from schedule 1 classification, and decriminalize it - and take it away from cartels.

One of the drugs I take is from clover! Another new drug is basically FISH OIL! In BOTH cases, a company has patented it, and has it sold by prescription.

      Hey Steve,
How about corporations patenting naturally occurring genes and molecules?

If you've got at least one kidney, a company called Biogen owns the patent for at least one of your genes. It's called the KIM gene, and the kidney uses it in the process of self-repair.

If you can taste things with your tongue, the University of California own the rights to three more of your genes, called TCP-1, 2 and 3; it's not clear in the patent application what the owners plan to do with their rights to these genes.
There are supposed to be laws preventing the ability to 'patent' naturally occurring materials. Gee, somehow they are getting thru anyhow...can't imagine how thi$ i$ happening.

Even though it is older now, I still recommend a documentary called The Corporation...about how they came about and what they are up to nowadays...truth really is stranger than fiction.

I forgot to mention before, the oil the father used in the first video can be easily made at home.
There is even a cold extraction method that takes about $20 in materials to make the system. Add about $20 worth of shake or leaf and you could make enough life saving oil for 1 to 2 days.
It takes a cold heart to not allow people access to this medicine

I can't even imagine what pain this family has been thru...nor do I ever want to.

Good on this guy for doing whatever he could for his son.

This 'law' about cannabis is beyond ridiculous...it's a travesty.

    All because of greed.

  • Fascinating...I had never heard or read of anyone juicing cannabis before. I had read the Scientific American article he noted when it came out, and knew cannabinoids were produced naturally in the brain - but did not know heating is what they determined causes the psycoactive effect.
If used raw, as suggested - it does not seem to break any laws whatsoever...this needs to be addressed asap. As in hemp for industrial use, there is no reason for them to restrict it (other than the corporate opposition). More than 50% of the population now would condone medical use tomorrow (properly regulated). It really is time for de/re-regulation.

I wonder if using a wheat grass juicer would be better to concentrate the juice? Anyone use those? It would seem because of the plant structure, a lot of cannabis would be needed to yield a reasonable amount of juice...they did not discuss any of that -

Thanks for that video Thom - very enlightening...
