A lot of you are familiar with my little guy Ricky and his second rescue. He lived in California all his life --- so when it snowed yesterday and stuck, it was all new to him at around 10 years old.

I wasn't aware it had snowed and was surprised when I opened the door in the morning for him to go out, too. He just stood in the door looking around with his eyes bugging out. He lowered his head and stretched his neck like he was trying to smell it, but he wouldn't go out the door. I gave him a nudge on the butt, and he went out on the covered porch but wouldn't leave the porch.

I had to put on a coat and boots and go out to coax him off the porch. He was stepping light enough to look like he was dancing. It took a few minutes for him to quit being a little scared of the stuff.

Damned - there are just some moments when you have pets that you need a video camera for.

Anyone else have pets or kids seeing snow for the first time this year?

Here's another one. He loved the snow, but it's gone already. It doesn't snow much in Vancouver.

Love that second pic - the look in that kid's eyes is priceless.

I remember the first time I took Ricky out to a lake for the first time. He'd seen the delta with it's numerous channels, but never a lake with beaches and trees. When I opened the car door and got out he just sat there looking at the lake, not realizing that he was going to get to get out and play. When I told him to get out he was so excited he almost wet himself. What a day that was. It was the real beginning of his new life.
