I'd love to see that pass rush from the previous Super Bowl reincarnated in this one.

No one ever put pressure on Brady like the G-Men did in that game - it was unbelievable.

The guy was getting hit even on those short passes that drive people crazy and they were held to only 14 points.

    Good luck!

It's not enough to just pressure Brady, the pressure has to be relentless. Our pass rush is relentless...we just keep coming! You can't give Brady time in the pocket, or he will pick you apart. The Giants know that. Fortunately, we have the personnnel to constantly pressure Brady throughout the game.

That's not to say Brady isn't going to make plays. He's a great quarterback, he's going to make plays. The key is to limit the number of big plays that he makes. If you do that, plus execute offensively yourself, you can beat the Patriots.

Easier said than done, of course!

You really have to hand it to the Giants...this overshadows even Tebow's (partially media made) story this year.

Who would have thought that the Patriots would only have been favored by three in the SB, against the Giants.

This game really has me scratching my head on picking, because the Giants defense is, for lack of a better word...awesome.

Vegas is just a wee bit concerned about this turnaround too...
Las Vegas fearing a Giants win in Super Bowl XLVI

There were people mid-season getting 80 to 1...now they are sweating the payoffs, and the Giants have a very good chance of winning.

    Uh Oh...lol

Actually, if you threw out the regular season records of both teams and were picking a favorite based on what you saw in the playoffs, the Giants would be the favorites. No objective observer will dispute the fact the Giants have played better than the Patriots in the playoffs - and against tougher competition.

I've always felt that the winner of the Packers/Giants game would win the Super Bowl.

if anyone's going to get blown out - it will be the G-Men.

I knew it was just a matter of time before you displayed your lack of football knowledge. You're entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts. Here are the facts:

First of all, in the two most recent games that they've played, the Patriots have yet to prove they can even beat the Giants - let alone, blow them out. This year, the Giants led the league in big pass plays of 60 yards or more. They have the more explosive offense. Add in the fact that they're playing on a fast surface which always favors the more explosive team. They have more big play athletes on offense and defense. In the playoffs, their defense is holding teams to an average of 12 points per game. Like it or not, right now, the Giants are the better team.

Based on the facts, if anyone's going to get blown out - it will be the Patriots.

All of the above may be true but, ( except your comment about my lack of football knowledge )

I'm picking the Giants to win and have picked them every game in the playoffs but...

From everything I know of the two teams, the G-Men are more likely to fall apart than the Pats - despite the stats.

Ps. Since you knew it was a matter of time before I displayed my lack of football knowledge...

It's a shame that there isn't a "worthy" online football strategy type of game in which we could engage and hash it out.

If there was, I would give you a online slap in the face and challenge you to a game.

If you or anyone else reading this knows of any - please let me know.

This is the last time I'm going to respond to you, because I'd much rather have an "intelligent" conversation about football. It's obvious, I'm not going to get that from you. But why on earth would you pick a team that in your words is "likely to fall apart?" That makes absolutely no sense.

You'd think an "intelligent" person wouldn't cherry pick words.

You quoted TL: "likely to fall apart".

TL said: "more likely to fall apart".

The "more" is an important part of what TL said, as it makes a comparison betwee the two teams.

And since the Giants had a point differential of -6 during the regular season and the Pats were +171, I'd say that TL is correct and the Gnats are the team most likely to be blown out.

However, an "intelligent" person would be concerned over Gronk's ankle, as he's likely the difference maker in this game.

Thank you Kurt as that was all I was saying.

Some folks get really emotional about their teams and perhaps David saw only what he wanted to see in my post.

By my count at least 20 of 45 Super Bowls have been decided way before the 4th quarter began.

As of late most games have been very competitive and that's a very good thing.

I sincerely hope we have a close game and odds are that is what we're going to get.

This actually made me smile...I've rarely seen such a self answered statement.

Your biased, I am not. Both teams have such an equal chance of winning.
It may be the best bowl in years.

Without going into War and Peace type statements on statistics...which I really don't like doing...the Giants have a lot to be proud of this year...Why the media hasn't done the big comeback- underdog angle more on this story, truly baffles me.

I have another week to pick...not hard to guess who you are going for...from your posts.

I am sharp enough, to know your sharp enough, to be half joking with your original statement.
