Was reading a few reviews. Doesn't sound to promising.
Anyone seen it?

I always figure movies focusing on animals will be tearjerkers - look at Marley and Me, and Red Dog. I cried at both. I haven't seen War Horse yet but some friends have, and they liked it a lot. I'll wait for it to come to DVD so I can sniffle at home in privacy :-)

I have not seen it, but according to imdb.com:

    Ratings: 7.3/10 from 16,849 users Metascore: 72/100
    Reviews: 249 user | 205 critic

That doesn't seem to bad to me. Especially for a move that's nearly two and a half hours long.

I actually had the pleasure of seeing it on a stage and it was one of best plays I've ever seen. Still didn't beat Les Miserables though..

      Audrey - I'm the same!

I'm really looking forward to seeing this - but it will be DVD or on demand so I can watch and sniffle. Horses are my great love and previews show a magnificent animal. I demand a happy ending...for the horse, at least!

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

The photography is great, reminding me of the Black Stallion. The story is pretty much Lassie Come Home within a war setting.

On a grade scale I'd give it a solid B.
Communication is instinct in ALL species. How do you think they create packs and herds if they can't communicate? Animals do a lot more communicating within their species, and across species than you seem to realize.
