Wow, I'm impressed
Her playing in the first song sounded like a harp to me, right up to when she started strumming chords.
The second song I listened for mistakes with my music ear, didn't really hear any.
For just 7 months on the Uke, well like I said, I'm impressed.

Thom, I know what you mean about the harp sound, it was noticeable in the studio too. And if you're interested in this kind of thing, there's not much added to the production for the recorded tracks. The producer didn't want to detract from Zoe's voice and uke - he just added a very subtle double bass and cello.

It's exciting times, I must say... for Zoe too I guess (ha ha)

Oh yeah, and Kim, I hope that new body part you got recently is behaving itself. I notice you're a little more active on facebook so I'm guessing you're feeling a wee bit better.

Just a quick update - we've been just a little bit busy with the launch of Zoë's single which has been going great guns on Amazon. It got up to #3 in the folk(?) chart within a couple of days and we're just waiting for it to pop up on iTunes. And we've had a small amount of stock of her CD at home which we've been shipping out to quite a few countries.

All exciting stuff. For those that follow me, Zoë or her Mum on facebook you'll probably be familiar with this video, but I've only just remembered that I hadn't posted it here.

Yeah,she IS nice! You are one of the first, and perhaps THE first, to show his child here where I said such a comment. Nice look, nice attitude/expression, nice voice/expression, she also plays the uke well. It is a shame that it ALONE doesn't really do her justice. It just isn't meant to. She has a good chance of doing well.

OK,it doesn't look like my last two messages posted. Let's just say she is cute, has a nice voice and attitude, sings well, and plays the uke well. I am sure she will do well.

And SEVEN MONTHS? Some people spend their lives chasing fame and never make it even though they are decent. Seven months is pretty good. And the 35 missed calls is a good video.

I've been watching her facebook posts since you first told us about her. It's really incredible to watch from over here "across the pond". It's like watching a behind the scenes biography of someone that's about to hit it off really big. You must be a very proud father watching all of it happen.

You can just sense it all falling into place for her. By the way this blog post she shared on her fan page was incredibly fun to read and watch...

Gary - I love the idea of people watching her/our journey from a distance, that gives me a real buzz.

We all loved the Matt Baker video too. I know he may not be known outside of the UK but he's quite a celeb here and that meeting was quite a coup. We've heard back from the producers and they want to use the bit of footage they got for the show. Good stuff.

It's all just so much fun - none of us knows if it will lead to very much more, it's just nice being surprised when newspapers, radio and TV get in touch. I hope we continue to enjoy the attention.

Most importantly, Zoë's absolutely loving it, which is handy to say the least. lol

Seems that Scotland and Wales are producing some talented youngsters right now ( Britain`s got talent show)

My daughter had a very good singing voice at school, but she would not sing solo when asked by her teacher.... ( too shy)around the house no fears! She won a prize televised on Channel 4
with her class mates at the welsh eisteddfod. The choir from her school. ( they sang in the welsh language) It made us all as parents very proud.
So this is really exciting times for you, hope she gets that golden disc soon mate!

Good Luck to you and Zoe. Thanks for sharing her cool vids. Be sure and have a reputable entertainment attorney look over any record contract. Sometimes an artist unknowingly signs their life away and does not wind up getting paid if they break out big because the label will state that you owe them 5 records or all the money off the top goes into marketing and you get paid down the road. Lots if poison pills in the recording industry.

GforceSage has a GREAT point! I WISH I remembered the name of the guy, etc... But one guy in the US ran a kind of airline limosine service. As you can imagine, most of his clients were FILTHY rich and well known, or business men. It would be a kin to having bill gates fly. They didn't have to tell him much.

Soon, he found that young kids were flying, etc... He was SHOCKED! He did some research, and found out that they were MUSIC GROUPS! So he decided to become his own client. He would find kids, audition them, etc... become their manager, and then use his service to fly them all over. He had a LOT of stuff hidden in those contracts.

The original videos were made private so as not to dilute the 'official' one. That was by request of the record company. I've made them public again because I don't think it matters that much really. She's got nearly 4000 views in 3 weeks, that's not too bad!

When it comes to legalities, we have had the contract looked over by a music lawyer and we're very happy with it - but thanks for your concerns and it's definitely a good point.

No offense, but I don't think anyone here is willing to lie for you. If we raised the stats significantly, it would likely mean that you should publicize better.

Disney actually has historically had THREE main businesses.

1. Animation.
2. Family Entertainmnt
3. Creating and exploiting stars.

I already told you about that other guy. Disney makes a lot of money taking veritable unknowns, and making them famous. If not for the publicity, fame would likely not be so rare. Your daughter definitely only needs the publicity. She has everything else down. I wish I read this this morning.

I bought a little tape at a store that had a young and cute danish performer with talent. I bought it ONLY because the danish songs seemed simple, and I knew I would likely like the music. I know some danish, and figured it would helpmy studies. I wonder where SHE is today. Did her career take off, or die in obscurity?
