Linsanity has got me thinking about the power of an emotionally moving story.

This guy Jeremy Lin is an Asian-American who couldn't even get an athletic scholarship.

He couldn't get drafted by the NBA.

He made it into the NBA as a walk-on.

He got cut by Golden State and Houston and somehow ended up with the Knicks this season.

He even got sent down to the D-League.

BUT one day the New York Knicks put him in the game.

And you know the rest...

Now the Knicks are on a 7 game win streak.

Lin went from sleeping on his brother's couch to overcoming all odds and becoming the starting point guard for NYK.

Sales and traffic to the Knicks online store is now up by 3000%.

There's even a Jeremy Lin app you can download at knicks.com

Fans at Madison Square Garden are wearing cutout paper masks of Jeremy Lin's face.

Lin is picking up where Tim Tebow left off, in terms of an athlete transcending his sport.

The only difference is that Jeremy Lin is actually good.

I don't follow sports at all, but I keep seeing this guy's name all over the news online. Since it all seems to be sports-related, I never read any of the articles, as sports bore me to tears. But I was curious as to who this person was, so thanks for the explanation. Now I feel more educated!
