So I'm looking to plan some kind of get-away for my gf's 30th. I live close to Montreal Quebec, and I'd like to take her some place warm without breaking the bank. I'd really like to stay under $2k.....her b-day is the the 1st week of March (She's a teacher and has her spring break at the same time), but some friends were telling me that it's a touch time to find a deal and resorts are too packed.

Any suggestions for a nice, warm get-away?

Thanks.

If you are look at US destinations, you'll find a lot of discounts being offer by some of them due to slowness of the economy. Generally this is a higher cost time for travel to warmer climates - but this year you might be surprised at some of the offers to be found. Even Disneyworld in Florida is offering discount packages now.

I've seen several discount specials advertised and also quite a few hotel ads are featuring multi-night specials.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Actually Disney now lets you in free to Disney Land or Disney World on your birthday. I did a quick google, here's the link.

      Detecting Browser Properties . . .

Edit: That is the right link. I don't know why it has that description.

Try Las Vegas. They're hurting with the economy and rooms at the resorts have never been cheaper.

Just make sure you don't visit during a major convention, so if you're flexible, check hotel rates for different dates.

You don't have to gamble...You can just site-see your first time there. Go to a few of the casino sites and shop for prices. I think you'll be able to find some great deals.
