Rare Breed - The New Zealand 'Oompala' discovered

I know I have a reputation for spoofs - but this is 110% genuine.

It's in Wellington Zoo - only found last week in a Tesco's in the 'lost and found' room.

The Ooopala

Apparantly it had been wandering for days, it's quite a young Ooopala and how it got into a Supermarket at night is a mystery. No doubt our Kiwi buddies will confirm that just for once I'm telling the truth.

Yes they are a docile animal, they based the 'push me pull me' animal from the original Doctor Dolittle on this lovely rare breed.

They are related to the OBOBEM

I have no idea whether you are just having fun again or if that thing is real. There are a lot of strange animals on the planet - and despite that we think we know it all, we still discover new species now and again.

Sal, as if I would? But I suppose it's the old 'cry wolf' I spend so much time 'larking about' that when I do find something of great interest it's little wonder that people say -' Oh another spoof' such is my fate.

But thanks for all those pics, It has helped me recognise a relative of the Ooopala
