Americal football is a violent sport. Some of the hits the players take would knock me out. It is fun to watch but I would not want to be a player. Especially a player in a team that is playing against the Saints

wow, the punishments... my opinion, if a player "hits" another player with a LEGAL hit that follows the NFL rules, what's the problem?

When I was in school, we used to get many stickers for our helmets.... certain ones for touchdowns, tackles, INTs, and one special sticker for the "Big Hit".... we just didn't use cash...

    crazy stuff

WOW! That's a hard hit! If I were a Saints fan I might think it was excessive, but I'm not so I can be fairly objective here, and I think it sends the right message.

The Saints are hit in another way too. The Cowboys and Redskins were punished for dumping salary in the uncapped year (teams were warned at least 6 times not to do that) and the punishment was a loss of cap space -- $46 million in all. (Story: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/13/sp...-cap-room.html)

The cap space they lost was divided up among the other NFL teams, except for the Saints and Raiders. The Saints and Raiders won't get the extra cap space because they were guilty of the same thing, but to a lesser degree. The rest of the league gets an additional 1.6 million in cap space because of it.

I guess if you're a fan of any team except the Cowboys, Raiders, Redskins, and Saints, you can say "Thanks for the cap space, boys."

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.
