How would the fairy tale Three Little Pigs play out if it were covered by modern media?
The Guardian's fanciful advertisement for open journalism lets you "follow the story from the paper's front page headline, through a social media discussion, and finally to an unexpected conclusion." I didn't see that one coming.

When I read your thread title I said to myself the wolf would be the victim and the pigs rung up on charges. That's one of the problems with the world these days.

Wisconsin recently passed it's own version of the Castle Doctrine, which creates an automatic presumption of immunity for an act of self-defense for any person who uses deadly force while in his residence, motor vehicle, or place of business and is not engaged in illegal activity. The bill also limits civil liability when someone uses deadly force as outlined in the bill.

The pigs would have been protected by law here.

I LOVE the "wakeup and smell the bacon" sign.

If the groups were larger, the pigs that built houses of straw and sticks would probably actually get charities built up, and have people contribute. The guys that built with brick would be among those forced to pay.

I didn't ever hear about the wolf getting hurt. If he broke a leg, or punctured a lung, they would CERTAINLY be forced to pay for THAT! USUALLY if a person, that is trying to hurt you, dies by an accepted method, you are OK. It was self defense. Accepted is like dumb luck, or shots from a gun until the average person or average criminologist might not consider him a threat. If you just keep shooting, they may disregard the self defense claim, and charge you with murder!

If you boiled him, the law would generally charge you with lacantricide(?)(I was trying to look for the word for killing a wolf in cold blood )! It would be considered excessive force, and could be considered as tampering with evidence, etc...

BTW all the ideas I expressed are from actual cases, so all are likely however far fetched they may seem!

Why do garden gnomes smell so bad?
So that blind people can hate them as well.

The bible obviously left out some facts, and was mostly biased towards the target demographic, but it was honest enough. It told about how people were spies, when they were, and deception. As for the book of esther, who knows if the one person was the SOLE cause, etc.... They DID show a reason none the less. As for things like slavery? Did you know slaves were supposed to be given the option to go free after seven years?
