Depending on the angle of your question, there's my biological house (my body),
my astrological house (with which I think we have 12), my spiritual house (House of the Lord), and, sometimes, just through musical enjoyment, I'm living in The House of the Rising Sun. There's also my familial house (my lineage). Oh, and there's my phyisical house, as well.

I'm sure I've missed all kinds of houses, but the question is (most likely, purposefully) vague.

Well, In reality the answer could be different for every individual.
I can stay in my house. I can stay in my mothers house, I can stay in my sisters house,I have friends who would let me stay with them. Would it be at the same time? Again it would seem to depend on YOUR definition.I would say yes. I could spend a night in each house and rotate them and every one whose house I stayed overnight could say I was staying with them on a regular basis.
So, the more people answer this seems to be more of a trick quetion that the parameters change with every answer.

The answer isn't possible given the information at hand. Taken at face value, one can only be in one physical place at one time. Thus, the answer is one.

Is this a riddle? There would be zodiac houses - such as which house the sun and moon are in.

Is this for tax purposes? As long as you reside in a home part of the year it can be considered your residence - so several could qualify. Members of Congress often have 2 that they claim. Maybe more. The summer cabin, the main residence, another residence at a town of business, etc.

I'm thinking this is just a riddle so it will take knowledge of sacred geometry and zodiac to answer.

There are two answers to this.

One is infinity as every point in time (according to some quantum physicists) always exists, past, present, and future. So therefore, once you life in a house, you are living in that house permanently within a point in time past, present, and future.

The realistic answer depends on how many houses are within the main house. For most people, it would be 1 as people own and live in just the one home, but some could have a house built within another house, etc.

Honestly, I think the OP just wants a good chuckle for his jollies to see how asinine the answers can get amidst the expected, rolling standard of asking for definitions to terms. There's always those.

Maybe I'm over thinking this, but here goes.

Let's say it's physically impossible to live in more then one house at once. If you cannot live in more than one house at the same time, then the answer may initially appear to be "one". But can you live in one house at the same time? You would only say "at the same time" if there was more than one involved.

With those two possibilities ruled out the only answer left is zero.

I will explain exactly why I make the above assertion. I will also go beyond those numbers and say that with our limited knowledge of the universe(s), there is an unknown number of houses I may be living in.

But first let me say a few things about houses and living.

You have not specified the exact nature of house and live. It may be literal or figurative. But since we cannot literally be in two places at the same time, so far and as far as I know, then I turn my attention to the figurative house and living.

Yes, we have freedom in thought but it is limited by many external forces. Due to individual differences, some exercise that freedom more than others and in different ways. We have the potential for much greater freedom of thought, but we voluntarily give up many thought-freedoms in order to survive as societies and nations. More to come on that.

First, I can and do live in all those houses, the numbers given above, because each person represents a metaphorical house. A house is a structure in which we literally live in during certain hours of the day. That is the definition of house most people think or consider to be true. But there are other 'structures' that can qualify to be called another form of a house.

A person can be considered a house. There is physical structure as well as intangible structure with the latter consisting of thoughts, beliefs, psychological elements, etc.

We agree. We have shared experiences. We are bound together in a common cause. ... We walk in the same shoes. We are of like minds. We live in the same house, metaphorically speaking.

Yes, I have freedom of thought and freedom to choose with whom I 'live' - the 'houses' I choose to live in. Even though I disagree with many people on many subjects, attitudes and belief, there are higher considerations at play. I live in relative agreement with the society here in the US. There are shared beliefs and attitudes between the US and many other countries and societies. So I will agree that I live in the houses, or some of the rooms in those houses, with people in other countries.

You can classify all the various attitudes, beliefs and areas (topics) of agreement and disagreement as rooms, colors and various types of constructions and sounds. How you wish to do that is your freedom of thought. So it follows that while I live in the same houses, we disagree on some things and therefore do not share some rooms or like all sounds and colors, etc.

You never specified literally or figuratively, so I have freedom of thought and speak in figurative (non-literal) terms.

I read your thread a few days ago and wanted to write this but obviously didn't. I guess I was overcome with an urge to share my thoughts.

According to my definitions and the scientific evidence for collective thought, etc, my answer is correct. You can argue it, disagree with it or say I'm wrong, and that is your freedom of thought. But it is only wrong in your mind, and/or maybe the minds of others.
