Some people are amazed and awestruck by the beauty of nature.

Others just want to go out and destroy it and celebrate its destruction.

(Can you tell I'm not a fisher person? lol)

  • That bad boy is worth about 1.2 mil in Japan...

However, Adams doesn't have that option because his boat was registered at the time the fish was caught and New Zealand law prohibits the sale of fish from a recreational fishing boat.

Instead, he is having the fish mounted, a process that could cost $6600 and means the fish can't be eaten.

    That tuna's canned -

What purpose does catching a fish have If your not going to eat the fish?

That's just stupid IMO (mounting a fish), considering that fish would probably feed 100 people.

  • That 738lbs of Sorry Charlie is worth a million plus in Japanese Sushi...

New Zealand law prohibits the sale of fish from a recreational fishing boat. (big whoop)

"It is a serious offence for anyone else such as recreational or customary fishers to sell their catch. Selling includes offering for sale and barter" according to the fisheries...

"New Zealanders may be subject to fishing infringement fees of up to $750 if they are found to be outside the recreational fishing laws."

I think I would have at least weighed the difference between the fine and the dine...

Does New Zealand law prohibit mounting a fish, putting it on display and charging people to see it?

How about taking the mounted fish on a cross-country and/or international tour ... and charging people to see it (or museums to display it)?
