      LOL!

      Major typo

When I read the title after I submitted the new thread, my face was hotter than Thom's was when he ate his frozen vegan dinner! :p

I actually thought it was funny. Shame on me!

I just don't get why some people don't realize that the whole world has the potential to see their posts and tweets and why on earth they post some of the things they do.

Social media can be an out of control monster if you under estimate the power it has.

Farmington Hills Police Chief Chuck Nebus got calls from people as far away as California inquiring about the party.

You gotta love the dingbats. Calling the cops in Michigan? Did the folks in Cali want to know what time the party was?

More like twit and re-twit....though I did rather like the first spelling:p

          Kay,

The whole social media and viral thing cracks me up!

It seems the tweets and Facebook posts that go viral weren't intended to and those that were created with the desire to go viral, often don't. Haha!

    Terra,
What I want to know is what is in the water in Michigan?
This story is just the latest.
Before this was the one (I can't find the link right now) about the woman that won the lottery but was still collecting food stamps.
Stop drinking the water before we end up reading about you!

      Haha Kim!

      I know!

With all the idiots being unveiled in the media, from racketeering charges, to people ripping off tax payers money, to having 4 cities listed as the most dangerous of the top ten in the country, to just plain stupidity, I'm sort of embarrassed to say I'm from Michigan.

But don't worry, I only drink bottled water and hopefully the purification system eliminates the impurities of stupidity and greed!

I read about that woman. She won a million bucks and after taxes had $500K. She said she thought it was cool to collect the food stamps 'cause after all she had 2 houses to pay for. I was floored!

Terra, social media can be dangerous. One can't be too careful these days. People are being encouraged to spy on each other. Privacy is very very precious and is almost a thing of the past, don't you think?

        I absolutely agree, Karen!

Very very dangerous! That's why I don't participate much on the social media sites and never post anything anywhere on the net that I wouldn't mind "anyone" seeing.

But as invasive as some schools, companies, etc. are becoming, I'm sure something I said could be misconstrued and used against me somehow, somewhere, sometime.

    Karen,
My jaw almost dropped when I heard her say that too.

As far as privacy goes, you are right, its getting to be a thing of the past.
People have the ability to know more about me than I think they should, but in my case that was a choice I had to make when I went public with my health issues and asked for help.

What's in the water in Michigan is enough fluoride to make anything moving stone stupid. Grand Rapids was the start of the fluoride scandal - and they dump it in with no reservations in that state.

As far as people reading tweets - I think that kid just found out the easy way, though. What if years down the road that had been the tweet that busted the job? Now she and all of her pals know better.

I bet those kids are bummed though It's got to suck being all ready to go to the party of the century and have it never happen. LOL.

Teens are supposed to have fun and party.
I'm wondering if not allowing them to do that would actually have a negative impact on their development.
