Brother of EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie charged with murder after her headless body was found
The brother of EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie was today charged with her murder after her dismembered body was found dumped in a canal just hours after she attended a hospital opening ceremony.The limbless torso found in Regent's Canal was confirmed to be that of the 29-year-old today.This afternoon her 35-year-old brother Tony was charged with her murder and will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on Monday.Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage of her attending the opening of the £650million Royal London Hospital, in Whitechapel, East London, shortly before her disappearance last Thursday.Speaking earlier today Detective Superintendent Fiona Mallon, who is leading the Scotland Yard investigation, said: 'It is important that we piece together Gemma's movements from Wednesday February 29 until the discovery in Regent's Canal in Hackney on Tuesday.'We also urge anyone with any significant information about this case to contact us as soon as possible. In particular we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity around her home address in Pelter Street in Bethnal Green.'Miss McCluskie was reported missing to police two days after going missing.
