The world's most peaceful countries score the best
That makes sense. Corruption is the result of a "do anything to win" concept - whether the win concerns money or power.

DVOCATING KHAOS covertly is WORSE than shooting a few thousand civilians inanother country. Some at the top of the list are NOT peaceful! A nice enemy sometimes is preferable to a nasty "friend"!

Transparency International (TI) is a non-governmental organization that monitors and publicizes corporate and political corruption in international development. It publishes an annual Corruption Perceptions Index, a comparative listing of corruption worldwide. The headquarters is located in Berlin, Germany but operates through more than 70 national chapters.

  • Perhaps what should be asked is: Why are Iraq and Afghanistan still at the bottom of that list?

I think they need to re-evaluate the US. Our medical is 37th in the world - we are one of the last countries allowing MONSANTO to run our agriculture - and at this moment there is no habeas corpus and there is no way for ANY of us to know if people are being hauled off secretly or not just because of that one. We still allow torture, against the Geneva convention, and at this moment we have trillions of dollars missing that nobody seems to be able to account for.

And we are 24th? If we are 24th with the crap that's going on here, maybe we should well be on the extinction list. A species as screwed up as this really shouldn't even exist. Apparently we are a big mistake.

I think the US should be LOWER, but some at the top of the list should be BELOW the US!

        That would be political.

Things like this ALWAYS seem to be BIASED though!

Even some thigs about best/worst try to come up with a simple formula. POLLS tend to ask loaded questions that are misleading, ambiguous, etc... and then nterpret them to be somethng totally different. They may look for resources, but fnd a way to selectively exclude certain resources, etc...

Again, I COULD talk specifics, but it often gets political.

          about us (READ THIS)

Corruption is the abuse of entrusted power for private gain. It hurts everyone whose life, livelihood or happiness depends on the integrity of people in a position of authority.

this what the organisation is trying to stamp out in it`s own country.

for instance they even go into sport, what country represented by the transperancy chapters would not distance itself from those things corrupting the country they represent? Otherwise they would be corrupt? Bias is not on their agenda!

Like I said.... "ADVOCATING KHAOS covertly is WORSE than shooting a few thousand civilians inanother country. Some at the top of the list are NOT peaceful! A nice enemy sometimes is preferable to a nasty "friend"!" Interesting about that guy in Norway. THREE possibilities have been given. Though they may seem so unconnected, they ALL fit PERFECTLY for Norway! If it were not so arrogantly as it is, or perhaps were less covert, maybe that guy would have been different. For the three theories?

              1. He would have nothing to fight. <<The most popular theory.
              2. He would not have been considered in such a way. <<The prevailing alternate theory.
              3. He would not have flipped as he did. <<The newest theory based on the unibomber connection. If the US did not have the same sort of problems, the UNIBOMBER wouldn't have shown up.

You want an unbiased country that can help? I STILL say SWITZERLAND is the best bet!

Can't believe that we're somewhere on the 126th(I thought that we should somehow be in the lower area), Philippines by the way. Corruption is so visible in here... Sad to say, I wouldn't want to be a part of the government here. Just trying to be honest.

BTW WHY is switzerland so low? It should be no lower than maybe 5. HECK, I think it should be ABOVE the scandinavian countries. and the scandinavian countries should be ranked as:

    denmark
    sweden
    finland
    norway

Ranking finland and norway is difficult, but I would say finland is better.

Australia should probably be over the netherlands

The US should be OVER QATAR and Chile
