videos that stop and go

Can someone tell me why some videos run with no interruptions, and some
stop about every 30 seconds. I have a laptop with 4 gigs, and it drives me
crazy. I have purchased some marketing tutorials, and the videos are
useless.

Thanks for the advice

I can think of 2 possibilities:

If these are streaming videos then it sounds like the videos may have been recorded at different quality levels (whatever the tech term term is).

A higher quality video will probably be a much larger file so it will be slower to load.

If your connecting to the internet wirelessly then try using a hard wired connection and see if that fixes the problem. I sometimes find that WiFi connections are slower than ethernet connections.

If these are downloaded videos stored on your computer then maybe you need to shut down your computer, give it a couple of minutes and then power up again.

If that doesn't work try defragmenting your hard drive (repair permissions on a Mac).

    Good luck

Thanks for the advice Rick; I do use wifi mostly, so that's probably the problem.

Wifi Connections shouldnt be a reason for a slow connection, only if you are connected to a network serving 100 or so laptops... But if you are using your own secured wifi, then it should be as fast as a wired connection... Make sure though to get an "N" type wifi which is the latest today... If you're laptop is not using an "N" type wifi card, then make sure to set your wifi router accordingly to your laptop's wifi card type... Before the "n" type there was the "g" type and the "b" types... A slow connection is mostly usually caused by your "source" internet connection... Other factors can also play such as the speed of your processor (should be at least 2 gigahertz) and your RAM (should be at least 2 gigs).... The hard disk size don't matter --if you're referring to your hard disk as the one that is 4 gig...
