I saw those yesterday and don't know about you, but I had my face pressed right up to the screen to see if I could see any pencil lines - lol

    I couldn't.

I have never seen anything like them before.

As someone who can't draw a matchstick man very well I couldn't begin to think how you can draw like this.

    Amazing.

Amazing, really have to admire what some people can do.

Now this is what i call talent?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Theo, you had me howling with laughter. You should really have a gallery with your work

Was there a model? Or was this done from memory?

The funny thing about the Cadden drawings, as amazingly realistic as they are - is there is a banner ad for photos on canvas right above it. Sort of takes the accomplishment away...

As terrific as this kind of talent is, I sometimes wonder how much photorealistic drawing is technical skill, and how much imagination goes into it - if they are just copying a photograph, or embellishing it a great deal - or what would be even more amazing...working strictly from imagination.

In either event, they are as described - stunning works.

I went to an art show once, and I can't remember his name right now...but he does "hyper-realistic latex sculptures", and even standing right next to them, as funny and bizarre as the characters were - you would have believed them to be real people - it was bizarre...the guy made the Madame Tussauds museum look like a bunch of chumps. There were guards all over trying to stop people from touching and poking them to get them to react, they were that real.

The 'Tourists', and 'Janitor' in this set were in the show if I remember correctly...

I REALLY have trouble believing that someone had the time and **********PASSION********** to spend THAT much time doing the hair and eyelashes like that. I could believe talent, but that effort is surreal. I emphasized passion SO much because it would be incredible, hence my post.

I couldn't have that pic in my house. It's just too bizarre.

      Wow Diana,

      Those are amazing!

My son is quite gifted in art and renders some very good pencil drawings, but these are in a league of their own! They blew me and my son away!

Stunning is the word for Paul Caden's "water effects" drawing. Talent and attention to detail.

It's all just shades of gray sketched around white space, but would YOU have the patience to do such intricate work? LOL, I would "like" to be able to draw like that, but I have to admit I do not have the commitment to sit there and focus long enough.

    GT,

I think that is the secret, his committment. If you looked at some of the other pictures, he makes a comment that it takes him about 6 weeks to complete one drawing. That's dedication.
