Coyote problem in populated areas?

I've been watching these varmints edging closer and closer to the local towns over the past 10 years or so. 10 years ago most of the ones I'd spot wouldn't look nearly as healthy as the one in this article.

Looks like now that they've made it downtown they're eating pretty good!

Any other communities having this problem, and what have you done about it, if anything?

Usually the deer hunters keep the coyotes under control here
But we've got bigger fish to fry now.

      Holy Moly, Thom!

And I thought herds of deer in the yard was bad! I can't imagine a pack of these. I'd be afraid to leave the house, lol!

I was pheasant hunting alone once, while living in NH, and a young moose came trotting out of the woods directly at me.

He wasn't attacking mind you, he was just not paying any attention to what was going on around him...

He stopped about 20 from me, kind of cocked his head trying to figure out what I was, then his eyes got REAL big and he almost tripped over himself trying to turn around and run the other way. Klutziest animals I've ever seen.

I had to sit down for a bit I was laughing so hard...

Haha, that's awesome and funny Dave.

I've never seen a moose actually, but somehow a herd of klutzy moose seems pretty dangerous to me.

I just went out in the yard for a moment (11:30am) and counted 5 deer feeding just in back of my property.
When I saw the first one all I could see was part of it's side through the brush. My first thought was of the moose

          Haha!

I would have too after seeing the video of moose in the area.

There are quite a few coyotes living in the Seattle neighborhood where I used to live. One of our cats disappeared for good one night, and we figured that was one of the most likely culprits.

      Oh no!

      Poor kitty!

We have red fox around here and once my kitty was gone for 72 hours and I thought a fox got her.

She did come home though, thank goodness.

We had quite a few when we moved in to our new house (Semi rural area edge of town), they used to come right up to the house at night.
That was a year ago. Have not seen or heard them lately?

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
