That's good news indeed; I lost my left kidney due to cancer, and my right kidney is
giving me trouble. I am too old for a transplant, the cut-off age is seventy, so this may
allow me to live a bit longer.

Sorry to hear that. I just had a transplant. There is another member on the forum who is in failure like I was who says he found something that is at least making him feel better. I'll see if I can find it.
I think its an ebook with some dietary changes and advice.

Thank you for posting this article. Almost my entire nursing career was spent as a dialysis nurse. I love reading the advancements in medical care for my renal patients. I have forwarded this article to one of my best friends, her daughter is on dialysis and will appreciate this info as well.

      Shana,
I was on dialysis for almost 5 years.I finally got a transplant on January 11th of this year.2012.

I try to keep up to date on everything and will post items about kidney disease here in the OT forum and/or in this thread:
      http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...ot-kidney.html

I also have two blogs ,One was a chronicle of how my life has changed since being diagnosed and the other is relatively new and incomplete, but it is about my life after the transplant. Maybe I'll update it over the weekend.

Kim, I hope you are continuing to improve post transplant. I know it is a life adjustment again after transplant. You are a true inspiration.

There is a nephrologist named Richard (Rich) Snyder that also practices alternative health/wellness. He is an author and has a radio show. One of his websites:
    improveyourkidneyhealth.com

His info may be of some help to renal patients.
