How to Show Appreciation?

I have been reading this forum for a couple of months now, and have learned more here than any other one place. I see all of the time on the posts where people are thanked or have given thanks. How do you do that? I am sure that it helps to rate the poster somehow. I have learned some great things and would love to show appreciation to the individual responsible, but I have not seen any "thanks" button.

Hi Teresa,
If you look at the bottom of a post from someone...where their signature is you'll see the option buttons "quote - multiquote - quick reply- thanks"
push the thanks button and it will show up under that post :-) Let me know if that doesn't make sense and I'll give you a screen shot of it

  The "Thanks" button will not show up in your own posts... you can't thank yourself... only others... hope that helps... alternatively, it may be possible that Admin has restricted this option until you reach a certain post count...

  Well, I am not seeing the thanks button on anyone's post so maybe Admin does have me restricted. Like I say, I have been reading for awhile, but have only begun to post! Anyhow, I do thank you all, you are teaching me so much!

  Some functions are restricted until new members have contributed a sufficient amount in the forum. That's to limit abuse by spammers.
