You can only do it in the first post in a thread,in other words when you start/create a thread. You can't create a poll in a reply to a thread.

Under the box you post in is a section called additional options.
That is where you see make a poll,and it has a default setting of 4 options, wiith a maximum of 10.
After you hit submit, that is when you are given the options to fill in for the poll.
