Here's a novel approach...Copyright protection is against my religion

Kopimism,
Sweden's Pirate Religion, Begins to Plunder America:

A Swedish religion whose dogma centers on the belief that people should be free to copy and distribute all information—regardless of any copyright or trademarks—has made its way to the United States.

This should be interesting...:rolleyes: I've never heard of this before now, that I recall...

    Reminds me of an Abraham Lincoln quote: "How many legs does a dog have if you call the tail a leg? Four. Calling the tail a leg doesn't make it a leg."

    Calling piracy a religion doesn't make it a religion, or legal.

      piracy is only illegal because a few vested interests bribed a few politicians into making it illegal, then dictated the policy to the rest of the world

        Uh-huh. And when did all this happen, recently? Or maybe hundreds of years ago? :rolleyes:

        Piracy is copyright infringement.

        In the United States the basis for copyright law was written into the Constitution in 1787 (Article 1, section 8, clause 8), which reads: "To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries"

        I would guess "older countries" have even older copyright laws.

        It's not some recent development ... but uh, go ahead and believe what you want.

          we dont have a constitution, we can keep our barristers and solicitors gainfully employed anyway

          but we do worry about further attacks on our sovereignty from the fbi

            You'll have to explain that if you expect anyone to understand it. What attacks? What proof do you have? Also...

            Are you saying yours is a lawless society? Are you saying your country doesn't have copyright laws?

    People aren't allowed to break the law because of religion. They may get special considerations, but they can't just break laws. It ain't gonna work for em.

    OMG! I swear I was thinking on the same lines a few days ago.

    See, I was reading The Constitution of my country the other day - the fundamental rights part. And let me tell you it sucks. The rights aren't "fundamental" at all.

    Most of those rights are, you can do this and do that. And then, it says, no clause in this article can prevent the government from making laws for the welfare of the socially backward classes, women, children.. blah.. blah.. That's ****! But, anyway...

    One thing that stood out was that, one of the rights says that you have the right to practice ANY religion. And it is illegal to make laws that hurt the sentiments of any religion.

    Might as well start my own religion to counter the reservation system! That's the only way that I can see out of this wretched law in our country.

    Sumit, if you're successful at starting your own religion, you can turn it into a WSO to sell to your fellow citizens. After reading your post, I'm thinking quite a few would be interested.
