Question about Kentucky Fried Chicken

I eat FFC for either breakfast or lunch few times a week.

I thought the skin for which KFC is famous is just a coating and that they use skinless chicken pieces. My wife insists that it includes the skin. I wonder whether KFC chicken pieces comes with the skin or not?

KFC for breakfast??? What's wrong with you...

The closest fast food establishment is 35 miles away from me thankfully... I like fresh eggs from my neighboring organic farms, fresh chickens, and the bacon/chops from their pigs are to die for. Not to mention the grass fed organic beef... mmm... oh yea, all of the veggies locally grown are just as good...

Yummy. You sure are lucky to have access to these "organic" foods rather than processed food served at fast food outlets. BTW I love KFC so much that I have them for breakfast sometimes too..hehehe

Yes, they come with the skin. And you shouldn't eat fried chicken because it's high in fat. Baked skinless chicken breast is much better.

Do you know the destruction you can do to your body if you don't get enough fat? Don't get conned into making yourself sick. A lot of the stuff you won't eat because it has cholesterol in it, for example, won't hurt you. Just because there is cholesterol in it doesn't mean that it will digest into cholesterol. Your body NEEDS some fats. So instead of exing fat out of your diet - worry about what type of fat it is and make sure you get enough of the good fats.
Consider omega 3 - it will keep your skin supple if you are in the sun alot and helps coat your cells. Cells have a coat of fat around them - if they don't, you are screwed for health. Show me a woman who looks like a nice tan california raisin and I'll show you a woman who doesn't get enough Omega 3 in her diet.

It is good. I like taking my family there sometimes, since it's supposed to be a family restaurant.

LOL Sal, getting enough fat is the very LEAST of my worries. I just don't eat fried foods, but I have my weaknesses which have plenty of fat unfortunately. Like cookie dough, dumplings, and mashed potatoes.

Thanks for your replies. If it is not KFC in the morning, it would be bacon and 2 fried eggs. I wonder which one is worse for health?

I am taking a medicine for high blood pressure and high cholesterol already. This is a deadly combination which makes me 10 times more likely than the general population to have a heart attack or stroke. I really need to cut my weight down quickly.

Bacon and 2 fried eggs will be much much better than KFC.. or just bread and eggs will be nice, since you're cutting down your weight...

It comes with the skin, and even if it doesn't, it's still pretty high in cholesterol. As an alternative, try a skinless grilled chicken breast paired with a lightly dressed salad, this would be tastefully healthier.

It's weird. My grandparents ate (and eat) bacon and eggs and fried potatoes every day for breakfast. My grandpa is a borderline diabetic but that's about it health wise. Sometimes I think what they're eating is healthier than the granola cereal I eat every day!

KFC does have lower-fat alternatives. I find the chicken too greasy but a couple of those snacker(?) sandwiches hit the spot. The fried chicken DEFINITELY has the skin on it. Even without the skin, the chicken is still pretty greasy!

Thanks, I am almost sure that the chicken used for breakfast is the skinless and boneless varierty, this was why I thought it was healthier than bacon and fried eggs.

Anyway, I think breakfast is the main culprit behind why I cannot lose weight. I am inclined to try skipping it altogether and perhaps have a brunch.

There are other offerings in the same shopping centre such as McDonalds and Pizza Hut. I can also buy sandwiches from Starbucks and Pacific Coffee. By the way, who said that American exports aren't doing well? It looks like world domination to me!

Oh, you guys...what good is living if you aren't enjoying life? Stop worrying about what's good or bad for you and just pig out!

If my KFC doesn't come with the skin, I'd go back to complain! That's some of the best apart of it!

Yes, it is pretty greasy. You'd think they could do something about that. I like the herbs and spices they use but actually get better chicken at Church's Fried Chicken. Church's is not nearly as greasy as KFC. (What could be greasier than KFC?)

I think I'll move to New Orleans where they know how to eat well and enjoy every second of it.

No, i worked at KFC for quite sometime... the chicken usually arrives fresh, and has skin and everything on it. There is a breading process where the batter coats the skin... pretty tasty... buts super greasy.
