San Francisco Before and after Quake

I wonder how many people seen in the first film before the quake were affected ?
Going about their business as usual unaware of the tragedy to come 4 days later,

    Wow. What a trip!

    ... a sad trip

    and amazing to me they had video cam at the same time as horse and buggy!

    To keep from crying - from the almost total devastation to the music in the video:

    The tall tower in the distance that is there before and after is the 'Ferry Building' - it was still there 2 weeks ago and bustling with people and markets and cafes.

    Yes highhopes that is the hope - no more quakes!

    ... but they are a fact of life - it is a testament to our 'survival instincts' that even in really devastating quakes, people rebuild entire cities.

    These pics are from the last bad quake in SF in 1989 - it was just isolated neighborhoods that were hit very hard. And they were rebuilt too!
