Interesting theory on people with blue eyes:

All blue-eyed people can be traced back to one ancestor who lived 10,000 years ago near the Black Sea | Mail Online

Not. Cool. My blue eyes are my best feature when it comes to women. I can't have them taking a knock like this.

What they SHOULD do, since they claim to locate the time within a thousand years, and the location within a portion of a city, is narrow the time down to an hour, and the precise location, and go there to find the persons corpse, and prove their theory!

Asians don't tend to have very dark skin.

And the people so prized(THEY said it) didn't change the whole population? They LEFT and went into isolation starting a new country? There ARE a few problems with their theory.

I can't speak to the inbred part  but if you are human and have non-brown eye color you have a genetic mutation.

Interestingly, there is one genetic mutation that allowed humans to form their larger brains. Without it we would just be another one of the great apes.

    Doh! Damn, we are.

I'm not following your reasoning. The fact that animals can communicate does not presuppose that they are capable of developing larger brain capacity.

The only reason that humans can develop a large brain is because of a genetic mutation that inhibits the development of large jaw muscles.

So, your friendly chimp is probably not going to be able to pick out that snappy new Wordpress theme or setup a PayPal account.

You are "not following my reasoning", because you only imagined it. I was saying that chimps ALREADY have what they claimed humans developed, so THEIR example is faulty!

There are LOTS of creatures with muscles that are weaker than ours, but THEY are no smarter.

And WE can't pick what a chimp would like, or even ask them how they are doing, so what is YOUR point?

No. I'm not following because YOUR reasoning and logic are faulty.

Again, your logic is faulty. We are talking great apes here.

Non-sequitur. Picking what a chimp would like was never part of the conversation until you brought in your logic and reason.

My point remains the same: Of the great apes, only humans have the ability to develop larger brains. This ability comes from a genetic defect that inhibits large jaw development in humans.

If so, my family is full of "mutants." There are blue eyes, green eyes, and brown eyes, just among me and my five siblings (as well as different shades of skin color, to the extent that people sometimes are surprised that we're even related). Who knows where it all comes from, considering my father's side alone has lived in the Americas since 1635, while my mother's side is mostly European. When it comes to red hair, there are theories floating about that that comes from Neanderthals. Blue eyes do seem to be a very recent development within the last 10,000 years:
