Libraries.
We have one in our small welsh town....Andrew built it providing the Local authority maintained it and stocked it with books. What a guy!

Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-American industrialist who led the enormous expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century. He was also one of the most important philanthropists of his era.

He had built 3,000 libraries, located in 47 US states, and also in Canada, the United Kingdom, what is
now the Republic of Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the West Indies, and Fiji. He also
donated £50,000 to help set up the University of Birmingham in 1899.[18]

No Carnegie Hall but we have a Carnegie Ave and a few pre-WWII buildings named after him. Cleveland's economy was built on steel so we pay appropriate homage.

      Interesting?

Apparently there were over 3,000 libraries / town halls he funded the construction around the globe. If it was a library he would fund it as long as the local authority supplied the books and maintenance of the building! Awesome.
