Food Safety Report USDA Is Hiding From You

Very disturbing report on how antibiotic resistant diseases are being caused by industrial beef production and extensive use of antibiotics in beef. The USDA, a de facto food-industry-owned organization, commissioned this report, then suppressed it:

The FDA (and USDA) is a joke.
Both suppress healthy foods and farming practices in favor of the poisons big corporations produce.
Look at milk for another example. Milk from cows that are fed a natural diet of grasses is extremely healthy. Milk from cows fed grains has to be pasteurized to kill the bacteria that aren't present in grass fed cows. Plus the cows (and beef) have to be pumped with antibiotics to kill the diseases caused by the unnatural diet they are fed.
So does the FDA (and USDA) crack down on the unhealthy diet the cows are fed? Nope, they started a big campaign on how dangerous raw milk is instead. Not only are the antibiotics causing problems but so is the G.E. corn being fed to the cows.

One reason I rarely (1 time per year) eat beef for the past 35 years.

Not to mention even their antibiotics don't kill leukemia in cows. (but don't worry it is 'benign' - or so these same champions of the truth claim). Bovine leukemia virus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Something makes me sick about milk and I NEVER drink it - (cheese is ok - don't understand but I would die without parmesian so I do this risky behavior).

FDA is a FAIL in so many respects. Another smoke and mirrors function of our government.

Well if they put us in concentration camps to cull us they would be stopped in their tracks -- by poisoning us to death, nobody really seems to notice the slaughter. They are too excited about the new health care insurance that is called "reform".

The downright scary practices of the FDA and USDA make me very glad to be in Canada, where rBGH is outlawed, but there's still a lot of problems with the food industry that do cross the border. That's part of the reason why I've been gradually shifting my diet to locally-sourced, organic foods when possible.

Zabrina, good to see you.Haven't seen or heard from you in ages.

As far as the FDA, obama recently appointed to head it someone that has helped poison our food for years. I didn't even need to read the report.
All those that support local home grown organic foods have the right idea.
Vegetables don't even taste the same anymore yet the public has been brainwashed into think they are eating the real thing.
I remember biting into a red juicy tomato when I was young and you tasted it,now you bite into what they call a tomato and you are just biting into something red and juicy, but no flavor. They can't be good for you.

Thanks! Good to see you, too. Had one heck of a school semester that ended in a bout of misdiagnosed pneumonia, three torn ribcage muscles, and no sense of smell (I've been without for two months now and I'm still not used to it). Can't complain, though -- got a great summer ahead.

The FDA has been a joke for years. Even though a lot in the Food, Inc. companion book was US-specific (such as the FDA), I still read it and learned so much. A few of my own research efforts proved the same point.

I'm a CSA (community shared agriculture) shareholder, which means I pay a monthly fee to a local organic-transitioning farm and help support them for a full year. In exchange, I get a weekly basket of produce -- whatever's fresh and local -- and I'm loving it so far. My food tastes so much better!
